Sinking Fast-Ch 15
As Penelope sat and watched Derek and the others make their way through the building she let her fingers fly across the keyboard making sure that they could get where they needed to go. Her eyes kept scanning the screens in front of her the entire time making sure that everybody from Mark and Marcie down to Derek and his team were all safe.
Derek and the others were listening to Penelope through their ear pieces, they would turn everywhere and do everything she told them to do and Hotch was extremely impressed with her computer skills. Dave smiled at Hotch and whispered, "she's good isn't she"?, Hotch said, "yes, yes she is" as they continued heading up the corridor that led to the main office.
Penelope looked up at the screens and saw Ricardo, several of his goons, Mark and Marcie not far away from Derek and she said, "be careful hotstuff, Ricardo and his goons are coming up the hall", Derek said, "thanks sweetness" as they ducked out of sight just in time to see Ricardo and the others walk by.
JJ looked at Emily and mouthed, "she's good", Emily nodded her head in agreement and mouthed, "better than any tech we have for sure" and JJ smiled and winked at Emily to let her know that she agreed with every word she had said.
Hotch leaned out and watched as the group disappeared at the end of the hall he then whispered, "where does that corridor lead to Penelope"?, Penelope said, "that leads to the corridor where the main office and information are stored".
Dave and the others looked on as Hotch said, "alright this is where we split up, Derek, you, Reid and JJ will go left and me and the others will go right". They nodded their heads yes and Hotch said, "be sure and listen to Penelopes directions, if she says go you go and if she says stop then you stop, she's our eyes and ears on this one".
Derek smiled and then turned with his team and headed left while Hotch and his team turned right, Penelope watched the teams and smiled as she saw them gathering up on both sides to surround Ricardo and his team of huge goons.
Mark and Marcie stopped outside of a huge door and Ricardo said, "why are we here, what's inside this room"?, Mark said, "this is where we need to go, this is where we keep everything". Ricardo said, "well, what are you waiting for, open that door" and Mark and Marcie leaned in one at a time so that the retinal scanners could do their job.
When the retinal scans were done first Mark and then Marcie put their hands onto the scanner and then they stepped back as the doors unlocked. Ricardo smiled and said, "finally, finally everything will be mine" and Mark said, "not so fast".
Ricardo said, "what do you mean not so fast, you said that everything is in here, correct"?, Mark said, "correct but getting into the room is only half of the job". Ricardo said, "what, you didn't mention that earlier" and Mark said, "actually I did, I told you that once we got inside you still had to retrieve the information and documents".
Marcie looked at Ricardo and said, "everything is in those mainframes over there" as she pointed to the huge computers that were lined up all around the room. Ricardo said, "and how long will that take"?, Mark said, "several hours I'm afraid" and Ricardo shook his head and blew out a deep breath before stepping forward and grabbing Mark by the tie.
Mark looked at him as he said, "well then get started because the sooner I have everything the sooner I can start living my life and the sooner you lose yours". Penelope who was watching and listening to everything via the security office smiled and said, "you're going to get it sick freak, you and your goon squad are going down" as she then started directing Derek and the others on where to go next.
Hotch met up with the head of security and he smiled and said, "right through that door is where we need to be" and Penelope said, "the coast is clear for ya bossman and be careful my team of crime fighters" as she watched the two separate teams get ready to make entry into the room where Mark and Marcie were doing their best to stall.
