Superboy rips the hammer out of Cyborg Superman's hands.
"You think you can stand up to me boy?" Cyborg Superman snarls.
"AHHHH!" Superboy yells as he charges forward with the hammer.
Cyborg Superman lifts his right arm to block the shot. Superboy swings. The shot sends shockwaves throughout the area. It knocks several onlookers off of their feet. Cyborg Superman remains standing however. The handle of the hammer snaps in two, as the head falls to the ground. Superboy throws the remainder of the handle at Cyborg Superman. He then charges forward and swings a punch. Cyborg Superman grabs Superboy's right arm. Superboy swings with his left, but Cyborg Superman catches that arm too. Cyborg Superman twists both of Superboy's arms around.
"YAAAHHH!" Superboy yells in pain.
Clark sits cross legged in the snow. His black solar suit absorbs the sunlight. His eyes are closed as he tries to focus his mind. He thinks about what his dad told him. The strength he has from the people in his life now. Clark thinks of his mother, then Lois, Jimmy, Perry, Cat, Lana, Bibbo, then everything goes black.
"Hello my son." A voice says.
Clark hears this but doesn't recognize the voice. It isn't Johnathan. He opens his eyes, everything around him is black. In the shadows Clark sees something. A face he vaguely recognizes. It's the face of his Kryptonian father, Jor-El.
"You, you're my father?" Clark says, his voice shaky and confused.
Cyborg Superman punches Superboy back. He flies though a shop window. Lex looks on from the balcony in his office. He grits he's teeth. Superboy rises back to his feet. He isn't hurt, but his anger is rising. He lunges forward and starts swinging at Cyborg Superman. All of his punches are blocked. Cyborg Superman grabs his left hand as he swings forward.
"Give it up boy." He says.
"I am Superman's replacement." Superboy says, as he swings with his right hand.
Superboy's right hand connects flush with Cyborg Superman's jaw. This punch staggers Cyborg Superman back a bit.
"Grrr." Cyborg Superman groans, more angry than hurt.
Cyborg Superman flies forward. Superboy leaps forward as well. Cyborg Superman grabs Superboy and starts spinning him around. He then lets go of Superboy. The centrifugal force sends Superboy flying. He smashes through a car parked on the street nearby.
Lois pulls up to the scene. She gets out of her car and looks at the destruction these two were causing.
"It's doomsday all over again." Lois says.
Clark stands still, just looking forward at his birth father.
"To see you standing there, it gives me great joy." Jor-El says.
"How, how can this be, aren't you-
"Dead? Yes I am. But I live on in you Kal." Jor-El says.
"I wish I got to know you." Clark says.
"And I you Kal. Though right now I just wish Lara was here to see this." Jor-El says.
"Lara, that was my mother?" Clark asks.
"She was." Jor-El says.
"Why- why didn't you come with me?" Clark asks.
"We wanted to Kal. I had a plan. It was to put the citizens of Krypton into the phantom zone, fly them out in the rocket, and set up Kryton on a new planet." Jor-El says.
"What happened?" Clark asks.
"The council did not agree with my research. The claimed there was no immediate danger. By the time I got the ship together, it was only big enough for one passenger." Jor-El says.
"Me?" Clark asks.
"Yes my son. Your mother and I risked everything to save you." Jor-El says.
"How did you know the beings of earth wouldn't just kill me?" Clark asks.
"With the yellow sun, you'd be too strong for them to hurt you." Jor-El says.
"But I didn't get my powers until I was a teenager." Clark says.
"I am a man of science Kal-El. But even so, you always have to have a little bit of faith in you. I trust you were found by a kind family." Jor-El says.
"The best. They raised me and helped nurture my powers." Clark says.
"Then you are as much a child of earth now, as you are of Krypton. You can embody the best of both worlds." Jor-El says.
Clark walks forward and tries to give his father a hug. But his arms go right through his Jor-El. That is when Clark is reminded that his father isn't actually here. He's just a memory, in Clark's head.
Clark opens his eyes to find he is floating off the ground. He feels as he did that night he first flew. He ascends up into the sky. A smile comes over his face as he is able to recall the joy of flying once more. Clark rushes back to his fortress.
"Brainiac, I can do it, I can fly." Clark exclaims jubilantly.
"Kal-El, there is something you must see." Brainiac says.
Clark turns his attention towards the television.
"This is Snapper Carr reporting for GBS news. It started off as Steel battling this Cyborg Superman. Once Steel was taken down, Superboy joined the fight. Now some members of the Justice League have joined. But no one can seem to match the strength of Superman."
"I have to go." Clark says.
"But my systems indicate that you are still only seventy-five percent healed." Brainiac warns.
"It'll have to do." Clark says, as he flies off.
Superboy was down, Steel was down. Wonder Woman and Aquaman had joined the fight. None of them could stand up to Cyborg Superman however.
Cyborg Superman charges up his laser eyes. He blasts them at Wonder Woman. She gets up her wristbands in time, but the blast still sends her flying back. Aquaman leaps up from behind, he prepares to stab Cyborg Superman with his trident. But Cyborg Superman is quick enough to spin around and grab the trident. He tosses it aside and grabs Aquaman by the throat. He slams Aquaman to the pavement. Superboy jumps on Cyborg Superman's back and begins viciously punching at his head.
"Insect." Cyborg Superman says as he grabs Superboy and throws him over his shoulder to the ground. He then punches him several times into the ground.
"Anyone else want to try?" Cyborg Superman barks.
The heroes: Superboy, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman line back up. The Flash speeds up to the scene as well.
Cyborg Superman turns his head and shoots his laser beams at a nearby building. The building engulfs in flames. People near by scream in terror.
"You'll pay!" Wonder Woman says.
"We have to help the people in that building." Flash says as he puts his hand on Wonder Woman's shoulder.
"Flash is right. Our duty is to protect the people first and foremost." Aquaman says.
"But he can't get away." Wonder Woman says as she looks on at Cyborg Superman. He looks back waiting for the league to make their move.
"Then I'll take care of him." A voice says behind the heroes.
The crowd gasps as Clark makes his way through. The crowd parts like the sea, letting him through. Lois tries to look over the crowd to see him. She get's her eyes on him, but is unsure if it really is him. His hair was long, and he was wearing a black suit with a silver Superman shield on the chest. He didn't even have a cape on.
"Is- is that really him?" Flash asks as Clark walks by.
Clark turns over his shoulder to look back at the other heroes.
"Go, save the people." He says.
The rest of the heroes run off to the burning building. Except for Superboy, who takes a moment to watch on in awe.
"No, no this can't be. I am Superman." Cyborg Superman says.
"Your reign of terror is over." Clark says.
"No No NO!" Cyborg Superman shouts.
"Catch me if you can." Clark says as he flies high up into the sky.
