"My name is Yuzu. I want to share a scary experience of mine."
"Every morning when I don't have school, I get up and do a quick jog. It helps clear my head and the cool morning air soothes me. Since my older brother is away for college, it's really just me, my twin Karin, and our Dad. My older brother always took care of us, so I decided to start taking care of myself."
Yuzu wakes up every morning to do some running. Even thought the streets are barely lit, she kept on going. It did her some good and she found some enjoyment in it.
"One day while I was running, I got the strange feeling like someone was watching me in the park. I stopped and had a look around, but I couldn't see much of what was out there. The sun was barely out and it was still dark enough for something to hide. It kind of scared me, so I just ran out of there."
Yuzu continued with her jogging until she got to the park. She felt like someone was watching her, not a good feeling when you're a young lady. She couldn't see anything out there and it scared her. All she could think of was getting out of there.
"I told a friend of mine about what happened, but he assured me that I was just being paranoid. He says the brain's natural reaction is fear, a fight or flight response, especially when you can't see something in the dark. He also told me that it was probably just some animal or just some random noise."
Yuzu's friend tried claiming that there was nothing out there and it did make Yuzu feel better.
"I also told my sister about what happened. She offered to go with me on my next run, but I told her that I be fine."
Karin offered to go with Yuzu on her next run, but Yuzu declined the offer. She thought she would be safe, but she wasn't aware of how wrong she was.
"Thinking I would be safe, I got up early and went on another run. I headed for the park and thought everything was going well."
Yuzu continued on her run like she usually would and made it to the park, but she wasn't aware of the trouble she was actually running into.
"I arrived at the park and ran through it, but that was when someone stepped out of the shadows. I couldn't see his face because he was wearing a dark hoodie. I was tempted to run the other way and run for my life, but he lowered his hood and saw it was just my friend."
Yuzu ran the same path she always ran, but she suddenly stopped when she saw someone in a dark hood step in the middle of the path. She thought she was in trouble, but the guy lowered his hood and showed that it was just her friend. She felt a little safer knowing it was just him and she ended up dropping her guard.
"You gave me a scare. What are you doing out here?" Yuzu asked.
"I was worried about you. I was just making sure you were going to be safe." Her friend claimed as he wrapped his arms around her.
"I felt better knowing it was him, but I soon realized something was wrong. As he had his arms around me, they grew tighter and tighter. It was like a pair of snakes constricting my body. It took all my strength to try and get free from him."
Her friend wrapped his arms around her, but something isn't right. Yuzu felt some pain as her friend tightened his hold on her. She practically had to force herself out of that hold.
"What are you doing?" Yuzu questioned.
"I'm just trying to protect you." Her friend said as he grabbed her by the shoulders and wasn't letting go. "I'm here for you, Yuzu. I want to protect you, be with you. We're great together!" He said, but it didn't sound flattering at all. He sounded more like a crazy person than a charmer.
"Something was certainly wrong. He gave me this twisted grin as he said that."
Yuzu could see the look on his face and it was scaring her. He tightened his grip on her and he wasn't letting go. Yuzu was starting to get scared here.
"I was worried on what was about to happen to me, but I had a guardian looking out for me. Karin came to my rescue as she knocked the guy on the head and he was knocked out."
Yuzu saw she was in real trouble, but Karin came to her rescue. She hit the guy on his head and saved her sister.
"Karin was worried about me, so she followed after me and tried to protect me. I believed her on that. After she knocked the guy out, we called the police and he was taken away. They interrogated him and he claimed that he really was just watching over me. Apparently, he was actually obsessed over me and just wanted to be with me, but he ended up taking things too far. I just couldn't believe that someone I trusted was so psychotic and I never knew it. I still go on my runs, but I always carry pepper spray or take Karin with me. Still, I'm a little freaked out. Anyone I know could end up being some crazy and I might not even know it."
