As Parrish led the trio up the stairs with handcuffs tightly around Meredith's wrists, Stiles held tightly onto Lydia's arm. On one hand, she was just forced to listen to her grandmother be murdered and the tear stains were still very evident on her cheeks, the least he could do was try and comfort her because he couldn't have pulled her away from Brunski. On the other hand, his head was throbbing with a ferocity he had never felt and his legs shook as he climbed up the stairs from the filling room to the main hallway.
"Are you two injured at all?" Parrish asked as they walked outside into the cool spring night, the fresh air stinging his cheeks with the coolness it brought.
"He punched Stiles in the face pretty hard," Lydia croaked out while pressing the tape into Stiles' palm and only letting go when he gripped it tightly in his hand, "I'm pretty sure he has a concussion given how tightly he's holding onto my arm."
Stiles pocketed the tape wordlessly and let go of her arm, only for his stomach to lurch when he saw the bloody stretcher be brought out of Eichan and was unable to stop himself from vomiting on Lydia's sneakers. As he continued to gag, he heard two things just above his head.
"Oh, my god."
"Yeah, can you send another ambulance? We've got at least a moderate head trauma here."
...
"Yep," the doctor confirmed as he put away the pen light, "that's a concussion."
"No kidding," Stiles winced as the light above his head made his head throb even more and made his stomach twist in a way where he wasn't entirely convinced he wouldn't puke again, "so what, you're gonna keep me for observation?"
"I'd like you to get a CT scan, so we can see just how bad the concussion is-"
"Yep, no. Not happening," Stiles defied as he stood, trying to will his vision from spinning, "this has been fun, but I should get going now."
It just had to be that moment when his legs gave out from under him and he was only stopped from hitting his face a second time by Parrish rushing forward and catching him. "Thanks, man." He mumbled as he was guided back to the bed by the deputy, only opening his eyes when his head was against the rock they tried to disguise as a pillow.
"I don't feel comfortable with you leaving the hospital without a CT scan." The doctor spoke again, which was starting to irritate Stiles who really didn't want to be the cause of yet another financial crisis of his father's.
"Not doing it," Stiles fought back as his stomach lurched again, but he didn't want to give the doctor more fuel to keep him there so he swallowed it back, waiting until the doctor left before turning to Parrish, "you need my statement still?"
"Yeah, although I think you have bigger fish to fry at the moment." Parrish explained before gesturing to the ajar door only for Stiles to catch the gaze of Melissa McCall and fully grasped that he was stuck in the hospital until he complied with the doctor.
"Well, I guess this is my new home."
