MaSha sighed in relief as she watched the masters finally leave the Opal Palace. She felt like they had been there for days. Each and every one of them had offered her advice and a spot at their own temples when she was allowed to leave the Opal Palace. Though, truthfully, MaSha already knew what temple she was going to. Nearly every one of them even commented on how nice it was that she now wore Tigress's old red tunic. It fit her perfectly.
"Why didn't Viper and the guys come?" Po asked Tigress a few hours later. They all sat at the dining table after a long day of speaking to masters. It felt strange to Po that Shifu and the rest of the Five didn't show up for an important day in a master's life.
"They'll arrive in a few days." Tigress told him. "Then we'll be heading out together back to the palace with them."
"You're leaving already?" MaSha looked towards Tigress with a frown.
"Not yet MaSha. Once Shifu and the rest arrive we'll give them a few days to rest before we leave." MaSha's frown didn't disappear. She always dreaded when the end of the month-long visit arrived and Tigress knew that. Still she had grown to accept it, just didn't make her less upset about it though. "Don't worry, it won't be for another few more days." Tigress leaned down hugging her from behind the chair. MaSha smiled, relaxing into the hug. Despite them not being very physically emotional with one another, hugs between them were always comforting.
Po couldn't help but smile seeing the two sisters. This was a whole new side he was seeing of Tigress and he loved it!
Unfortunately for the two sisters, the masters of the Jade Palace arrived quicker than they had anticipated and soon enough it was time for them to travel back.
"Will you come for the winter festival this year?" MaSha asked Tigress as they stood outside of the palace gates.
"I'm not sure yet, MaSha." Tigress looked at her. "I'll write to you if I can, alright?" MaSha frowned slightly but nodded in response. Tigress smiled sadly before hugging her. MaSha's frown turned into a soft smile hugging her back. Before long, the two sisters parted so the others could say goodbye.
"Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, Mistress MaSha." Po smiled, extending his paw. MaSha smiled up at him before taking his paw and shaking it. "Hopefully I'll see you again and maybe then become friends?" He asked sheepishly.
"We shall see Dragon Warrior." MaSha raised a brow. Unbelievable, why was he still determined? "Oh and Dragon Warrior." MaSha narrowed her eyes, pulling him to her eye level. "You are not allowed to court my sister. Got it?"
"Don't worry." Po chuckled nervously. "I won't until I have your approval." Not an answer MaSha was expecting but she finally let go of him and he walked back to Yang to say their goodbyes.
"It was great to see you again, MaSha." Monkey told her.
"Yeah, look at you. All grown up." Viper smiled.
"It was great seeing you all as well." MaSha smiled.
"Hey if you ever need anything, just write to us. Alright?" Crane offered.
"Of course." MaSha smiled.
"Alright everyone, let us start our journey." Shifu announced. "MaSha, once again, congratulations on your title." Shifu smiled.
"Thank you Master Shifu." MaSha bowed. Shifu smiled before he began his way down the stairs. Tigress hugged her sister one last time before heading down the stairs with Po, who had waited for her.
"So," Yang stood beside her as they finished waving to Tigress and Po. MaSha looked at him and raised a brow. "You don't have to say yes or anything, but I was wondering if you would like to try courting again? Maybe?" Yang smiled hopefully at her. MaSha returned the smile before taking his paw into hers.
"I'd like that."
"You know, I thought befriending your sister might have been easy." Po admitted as the group walked. "But after reading that scroll, I can see why it isn't." He frowned.
"Someday you might, Po." Tigress smiled softly. Po smiled back at her before they turned to the road ahead of them.
It might take Po a couple of tries but he was determined to. He wanted to be one of MaSha's friends to help her through the pain she had to face. No one should have to go through it alone.
Unknown to the group, MaSha's turmoil was only just beginning.
Alright that is the end of this story! The next part will take a little longer to come out though. The true end is yet to come!
