Ch19

Percy knew that something was off about the Princess Andromeda as soon as they got on board. Using the skill Triton taught him he covered his body in a thin layer of water to help conceal his scent. It's too quiet. He carefully watched a monster walk on the ledge above them ignoring them completely.

"Something isn't right lets proceed with caution," Chris said as they hid by some passing monsters.

"Why would Hermes send us here?" He asked as he gripped Riptide in his pocket. Though a part of him deep down knew the answer. Luke. He remembered the god's face at the mention of his son, he had never seen a god sad but Hermes definitely cared about his wayward son.

"Who knows. Just be careful and prepared to go into the water if necessary," Chris said. "This place gives me the creeps lets be careful. You got that invisibility cap right?"

He nodded, "Yeah I still have it."

"Put it on just that way the enemy can't see you but stay close," Chris said eyeing the area carefully. "If the enemy is here it is you that they want."

"Got it," he said as he took the baseball cap out of his pocket and put it on. It felt weird to be invisible but it was pretty fun even if this hat belonged to Annabeth. She must be with him. I won't lose this time.

The more they walked through the ship the more red flags he saw, the monsters seemed to be watching them with every second his heart seemed to race faster.

"Wait here something," Tyson said as they reached a corridor.

"It will pay off," a voice snapped. He recognized it as belonging to Luke and his blood ran cold.

Tyson then cleared his throat and began to mimic the voices inside, "Do you really think the centaur is gone for good?" Tyson then laughed. "They can't trust him the poisoning of the tree was the last straw."

"What else are they saying?" He whispered.

It was then the door opened and Luke came out flanked by a series of monsters. "Don't do anything lets get info," Chris muttered as Tyson stood in front of them.

"My what do we have here," Luke said as monsters surrounded them. He was invisible so he just gripped Riptide as Luke looked at them and frowned, "Chris long time no see. You and this monster came this far, I wonder where Percy is?"

He gripped his fists but held his temper as Luke eyes passed over him "Search the decks Percy Jackson must be nearby. You two can come with me."

Chris nodded and they entered the room with Luke which was nicely furnished. "Long time no see cousins," Luke said. "So tell me Chris or should I say Chrysoar where is your brother?" Luke was flanked by two walking bears with spears who were licking their lips while looking at them.

"Wouldn't you like to know," Chris said folding his arms. "Even with your bears you think you can beat me?"

Luke laughed, "You are no longer immortal you can't escape here alive."

He gripped Riptide and was ready to uncap it when Chris stepped in front of him, "Oh I've faced worse odds before," Chris said with a carefree laugh. "Don't think we'll let you near the fleece though."

"Lord Kronos wants the fleece. With it he'll rise again and put the gods in their place," Luke said. "Only those that submit to him will be allowed to live. Lock them up!"

Chris nodded slowly as the bears pointed their spears at them. They exited the room and were led down the hall. "On three lets do this," Chris muttered. "One."

He took Riptide out of his pocket and looked at the bears. Taking a deep breath he uncapped Riptide just as they entered they walked down the hall. Tracing his hands on the wall the pipes and sprinkles that held water moaned slightly. "Two," Chris muttered as they walked down a hallway, they passed by some mortals who were coming inside.

Chris took out his golden pen and played with the cap. "Three."

He swung his sword and chopped off the tips of the spears just the sprinkler system exploded raining down on them. The bears roared but barely had time to react as Tyson punched it knocking it off balance just in time for Chris to stab it in the throat.

Willing the falling water he forced the other bear to the ground. "Damn this thing is strong," he muttered as the monster tried to get up and charge at him. Forcing the water one fluid movement he plunged his sword into the throat of the other bear killing it. His heart raced as the bodies of the bears turned into golden dust. "Come on lets get out of here," Chris said as they ran out the other door.

"Sounds like a plan," he said as he took off the hat

They were on deck with various mortals going about their business but the monsters were among the crowd and charged at them. . "I'll summon my ship lets get in the water," Chris said as he took out the conch shell and blew it. The light sound of a wave reverberated throughout the area as they raced to the edge.

A group of monsters and enemy demigods charged at them. His instincts kicked in as he swung his sword killing one of the monsters before disarming the demigod and kicking him to the ground. "Stay down," he said as he plunged his sword into the head of a large serpent. His ADHD kicked in as he swung his sword blocking any attack that came close to him and wounding any enemy demigod among them.

Annabeth and Luke aren't here yet. It wouldn't be wise to fight now we have to get the fleece back. Swinging his sword he slashed at a monster decapitating it in one blow.

Tyson then came in and punched another enemy demigod. "Good job Tyson!"

Tyson smiled at him as Chris's ship appear in the distance. "Lets get out of here!"

Tyson nodded and jumped into the water. "Come on lets get out of here," Chris said as they all jumped overboard.

"That was close," he said as they swam to the ship in the distance Tyson was already a few feet ahead of them, willing the water they both propelled themselves and Tyson to Chris ship, once they were in range they used the water to lift themselves on board.

"Tyson you ok?" he asked.

His younger sibling nodded. "Thank you Percy. Those bad guys didn't hurt me."

"Good to hear that," he said patting him on the back.

"Full speed ahead and activate the cloaking devises," Chris ordered. The ship jolted in the water as it sped away from The Princess Andromeda.

"This thing has a cloaking device?" He asked as he followed Chris to the steering wheel.

"Yeah I used it many times to sneak up on others. I doubt it will be useful against a ship used by the Titan lord but it will be something," Chris said as he maneuvered the wheel of the ship. "I have to admit that our father took care of my ship, we'll make it to the Sea of Monsters in no time. Next stop the Bermuda Triangle at top speed."

"Great. The sooner the better," he said. He was glad his brother had expertise in this area, the sooner they saved Grover and the camp the better.

Chris's ship sailed at top speed. During that time he managed to get some rest and admire the waves. "Hey Chris is that a ship in the distance?"

Chris took out a pair of binoculars and looked at the ship and frowned, "It looks like a civil war ship. Here there is a familiar person on board."

His brother handed him the binoculars and looked at the ship. It was an old ship with a crew that seemed to be made up of phantasms on board and on the deck was Clarisse daughter of Ares who was frowning in their direction.

"Should we talk to her?" He asked.

"Sure why not," Chris said taking the binoculars back. "The more help the better."

Chris ordered his ship to sail towards Clarisse. When they were close enough they found the daughter of Ares glaring at them, "You both are in so much trouble," she said. "Tantalus threw a fit and said you both aren't allowed back at camp."

"We need to help Grover," he said firmly. "Chris and are going to help him whether you want to or not."

Clarisse glared at them. "This is my quest. I need to do it." Her voice was stubborn and defiant but he detected a hint of fear in it as if something else were riding on her completing this quest.

"We aren't leaving," Chris said firmly. "We don't need your help but we don't mind helping you if need be."

"Fine just don't get in my way," Clarisse said through gritted teeth.

"To get into the Sea of Monster we'll need to pass between Charybdis and Scylla they won't be easy to defeat so be careful," Chris said. "You may follow us if you wish."

Clarisse snorted and turned away. "Well I doubt she wants our help," he said. "Are these monsters tough?"

"They are our half siblings too," Chris said as he ordered his ship forward. "We will be between a literal rock and a hard place. Don't worry though I've sailed through these rough waters many times. Hang on tight we'll be approaching the entrance to the Sea of Monsters soon."

The seas as they headed towards the Bermuda Triangle. However, as they approached it the waves suddenly became more agitated and the sky became dark and ominous. "Hang on tight both of you!" Chris yelled as he went to the wheel of the ship.

That was when he saw Charybdis and Scylla, they were like two huge pairs of teeth coming out of the water. "Damn those things are huge," he said as the boat was tossed around the waves.

Tyson grabbed him as he nearly fell to the ground. "Thanks," he said. Tyson smiled and nodded at him.

"I want to help my brothers," Tyson said. "I'll hold you tightly."

He nodded, "Great lets just make it through this." I can't believe I felt ashamed for him. Yeah he was annoyed at Tyson for embarrassing him sometimes but he still cared for him, after all he was his sibling just like Chris and Triton were.

Ever since I became a demigod my family has gotten bigger. I swear I won't be ashamed of them for stupid things. Dad I'll make you proud, I'm glad to your son and to have many cool brothers.

Chris's ship rocked in the waves, to his surprise his brother remained calm and did not appear phased as he maneuvered his ship around the whirlpools and tides. Looking into the distance he saw that Clarisse's ship was struggling as it fired canons at the monsters.

"Foolish girl these aren't monsters you can kill," Chris growled.

"What can I say she is stubborn," he said. I may not like you that much Clarisse but I don't want you to die. "How much further before we enter the Sea of Monsters?"

"Not far," Chris said as the ship veered sharply from a whirlpool. "We should be there soon, it's Clarisse you should be worried about I doubt her ship can handle this much longer.

Looking at Clarisse's ship he watched as it repeatedly fired canon balls, "Is she trying to fight it?" But he knew the answer she was.

"Foolish girl," Chris muttered. "Well you can't force a horse to drink water." The waters around the ship became more violent. Tyson grabbed him tightly as Chris managed barked orders at the ship.

The ship turned sharply to one direction and another to avoid the sharp pairs of teeth and the violent whirlpools. "Hold on tight we are almost there!" Chris yelled as the boat shook violently.

The sound of an explosion rippled throughout the air, he turned around and saw Clarisse's ship burn up and sink into the water. "Clarisse!" He yelled as he watched her ship sink.

The wind roared in his ears as the ship began to descend into the sea. Water splashed all over the deck and the wind howled in his ears as he yelled. Everything went dark, he only felt Tyson's grip around him as the ship.

The sound of the ship hitting water reverberated throughout his ears. Water splashed around him but being a son of Poseidon he was tried.

"Open your eyes Percy we are here," Chris said.

He slowly opened his eyes and noticed that Tyson was still holding him tightly. Chris was still at the wheel his face tense and his ship was all wet but the sea was eerily calm.

"This is the Sea of Monsters?" He asked. The sea was calm and seemed sunny, the ship was not far from what appeared to be a spa called CC Spa and Resort.

"Crap not this again," Chris sighed shaking his head.

"You know this place?" He asked.

Chris frowned, "Me and Circe have a complicated history. We sold things to each other and back stabbed each other many times. She is a powerful sorceress and very cunning. I think we should avoid it."

"But what if Clarisse is here? Maybe she needs help?" He said. Normally he wouldn't care about her but he didn't want to abandon Clarisse in the middle of a monster infested sea.

Chris sighed, "Circe is a witch and is known to turn men into guinea pigs. Fine we can check but we have to be careful, who knows maybe her potions can help us with Polyphemus."

He nodded. "We'll be careful. Maybe you should take the hat this time?" Taking the baseball cap out of his pocket he handed it to his brother.

Chrysaor nodded. "Good idea. You'll have to be very convincing or she'll just lock you up or kill you."

"Don't worry we got this," he said looking at the island. "We are the sons of Poseidon after all."

His brother laughed and patted his back. "That we are."

Triton sat in his palace as he read the reports from the various mermen, "Sir your siblings entered the Sea of Monsters," one merman said.

"They'll survive one way or another," he said as he set the report down. "What is the situation on the Princess Andromeda?"

We put a tracker on Chrysoar's ship and had a mermen look after them when his younger brother summoned it. Ever since then he had spies look at the ship from afar, it was concealed by old and powerful magic. The Titan Lord and his allies must be on it. I'll not let it free.

"It is sailing south to Florida it may stop in Miami," A merman said. "So far we haven't engaged it but kept a distance."

"Good. Make sure the enemy doesn't become suspicious," he said as he summoned his trident in his hand. "When the time comes we'll deal with it, in the meantime prepare our best forces."

"Yes sir," the merman said with a bow.

I'll make you proud father. I'll take down the enemy's ship and their supporters one way or another.
