The FarWorlders once had control of the greatest treasure in the known universe. The Cothica."

Chapter 12: Secret Invasion Pt. 2

(Intro)

"Guys, isn't the Cothica supposed to be the most ultimate powerful source of everything magical in Perim?" Krista asked. "Yeah. But no one's ever believed that it still even exists." Sidney whispered. "You expect us to believe that the Cothica, the very thing our Tribes have been fighting over for thousands of Solons, once belonged to these FarWorlders?" Maxxor asked in disbelief. "I know this seems incredible to you. When I crashed here, I scanned and studied Perim, and saw that your Tribes used to struggle for power. But the FarWorlders once lived in a paradise because they had the Cothica." Elfraüx explained. "How do you know this is true?" Takinom asked. "I have experienced the Cothica once myself. For you see, I am a FarWorlder." Elfraüx revealed. Everyone was shocked to hear this. Especially Sidney and her friends. "You're a FarWorlder?!" Maxxor exclaimed. "Yes. Before the Cothica was lost, I believed that it should be shared not just with the many species in our Tribe, but with all beings in the universe. I knew it would bring peace to all. But Veltraüx branded me a traitor and imprisoned me." Elfraüx explained.

[Flashback]

"But I escaped, commandeered a ship and escaped the FarWorld. I set the coordinates to the nearest inhabited planet. Perim." Elfraüx piloted his stolen ship towards Perim. But suddenly, he came under fire. "But as I prepared to enter Perim's orbit, the FarWorlders tracked my ship and were determined to destroy me." Elfraüx made his way towards the escape pods and hopped into one. The pod jettisoned towards Perim and crashed landed in the OverWorld.

[Flashback End]

"And there I stayed, until your daughter and her friends found me." Elfraüx finished. "That still doesn't explain why you attacked our human friends when they scanned you." Verlina said. "Please. You must understand. Humans are not friends. They are a greedy bunch who do anything to get what they want. Before my pod put me into stasis, I studied up on those Chaotic playing humans. They're nothing but a poison to Perim." Elfraüx explained. The council didn't buy that. And neither did Sidney and her friends. "Still, an interesting story about the Cothica. Can you prove any of this?" Maxxor asked. "My proof lies in my pod. I have a communication device that will allow me to contact my Tribe. Allow me to make contact with them and they will show you." Elfraüx said. "I'll have to discuss this with my council and my daughter. We will talk more of this later." Maxxor said. "Nebres, Ghatup, Aimukk, take Elfraüx to the guest chambers. Make sure he gets whatever he needs." Nebres, Ghatup and Aimukk nodded. "Thank you for your time, Maxxor. I look forward to our next meeting." Elfraüx said before Nebres, Ghatup and Aimukk led him out.

As soon as they left, Robbie and Gisele realized they forgot to scan Elfraüx. "We still didn't get to scan Elfraüx." Robbie groaned. "Probably good that you didn't." Maxxor said. Sidney, Robbie, Gisele and Krista's eyes widened. "It's okay, kids. He's gone." Maxxor said. "You guys knew we were here?" Sidney asked as she and her friends revealed themselves. "We noticed you peaking out up there as Elfraüx told his story." Mudeenu said. "Speaking of which, what do you all think? Was he telling the truth?" Maxxor asked. "We're not sure, Maxxor. But if the FarWorlders know about the Cothica, odds are that Elfraüx knows where it is." Takinom said. "But he does know where it is, if it even exists, what happens to the Tribal Alliance?" Sidney asked. The leaders looked at each other in concern. "She's right. What happens after and if we find the Cothica?" Mudeenu asked. "It might reawaken our lust for power and drive us back into war." Odu said. "Even so, if we don't take the chance and claim the Cothica, these FarWorlders might send their own forces and reclaim it for themselves." Ri'oha said. "What do you think, Dad?" Verlina asked. Maxxor started to think.

Meanwhile, Nebres, Ghatup and Aimukk brought Elfraüx to the guest chambers. "These will be your quarters." Nebres said. "Thank you, friends." Elfraüx said. But just then, his eyes started glowing and Nebres, Ghatup and Aimukk became entranced. "We must contact the FarWorlders so we can reclaim the Cothica. If Maxxor won't help, who can?" Elfraüx asked. "Chaor. He has an army of renegade Creatures at his command." Ghatup said. "He can help you contact the FarWorlders and claim the Cothica." Aimukk said. "Perfect. Contact him immediately." Elfraüx said. "We will, Elfraüx." Nebres said. Elfraüx smiled wickedly.

Later, Sidney and her friends were battling in the Beta Drome to find out more about Elfraüx. Sidney was battling at Elfraüx this time. Minnie was battling as Getterek. Robbie was battling as Kobarri. Gisele was battling as Kebna. Nika was battling as Pyrithion. And Krista was battling as Blügon. They were battling at Wooden Pillar. Elfraüx was running towards the pillar. But just then, Kobarri and Pyrithion got the drop on him by hitting him with Inferno Gust and Power Pulse. Then Blügon came in and attacked with Mind Mash, sending Elfraüx flying. The Getterek and Kebna came in and struck Elfraüx with a double Torrent of Flame. As Elfraüx recovered, he saw that he was trapped on all sides as the others summoned their BattleGear to finish him off. Getterek had a Plasma Pounder. Kobarri had a Pyroblaster. Kebna had an Entropy Modulator. Pyrithion had a Liquilizer. And Blügon had a Destructozooka. But as they took aim, Elfraüx used his mind powers, giving them great headaches. When it was over, they each looked at the person on their right and thought they were Elfraüx and took aim at him. "Now." Elfraüx ordered. The others fired at each other and coded each other.

Back in the Drome, Sidney felt uncomfortable as she transformed back. "Talk about major mind games, mate. Elfraüx was all in my head and bam! I was coded by Minnie." Robbie said. Just then, they each received a call on their scanners. They answered to see it was Maxxor and Verlina. "We saw what happened. Sidney, did you sense if what he said about the Cothica was true?" Maxxor asked. "I'm afraid not, Maxxor. But there's something about him that's-" Sidney tried to say. "Creepy?" Minnie asked. "Weird?" Robbie asked. "Scary?" Gisele asked. "Unnatural?" Nika asked. "Freaky?" Krista asked. "All of the above." Sidney answered. "Hmm. I'll have Elfraüx brought into the council chambers at once. I want to know what's really going on." Maxxor said. "Well, I'm sending my parents a message to tell them what's going on. Then I'm porting for Kiru City. I wanna be there when you start asking questions." Sidney said. "Well, we're porting to the Cliffends. Something tells me that there's more going on there than Elfraüx is leading us to believe." Minnie said. "Plus, if something does happen, we want to be the first to scan whatever happens." Krista said, rubbing her hands together. "We'll call you if something happens, Sid." Robbie said. Sidney nodded.

Later, Elfraüx was brought into the council chamber, where Maxxor, Intress and Verlina were waiting and wearing hooded robes. "You wanted to see me, Maxxor?" He asked. Just then, Takinom and Mudeenu appeared on the right of him. Odu and Smildon appeared on the right. Ri'oha flew down from above. Sidney appeared in between Takinom and Mudeenu. They all were wearing hooded robes too. "You! I saw you at the Cliffends." Elfraüx said. But as he tried to make a move, Verlina got ready to blast him with the others following. "Try it and get roasted." Verlina dared. Elfraüx glared and stood down. "We've been thinking about your story." Maxxor said as he approached Elfraüx. "And we think…it's a lie." But Elfraüx wouldn't have any of this. He attempted to use his mind control powers. "You must believe me, Maxxor. The future of Perim depends on it." He said. Maxxor started twitching and struggling. "Must believe." He said. "You will take me to my pod at the Cliffends. Do you understand? You will take me to my pod." Elfraüx said. "I will…not!" Maxxor exclaimed as grabbing Elfraüx and tossing him to Odu and Smildon. "The only thing we're gonna do is hold you for questioning." Takinom said.

"How were you able to resist my mind control?! No Creature could do so!" Elfraüx exclaimed. Everyone pulled down their hoods and revealed to be wearing Mindbenders. "Danian Mindbenders. They protect us from mind control." Odu said. "We were supplied during the M'arillian Invasion." Mudeenu said. "How is it you know mind control? Only my Tribe had that kind of power." Ri'oha said. "Who do you think taught them how to use mind control?" Elfraüx asked slyly. The Alliance leaders were confused from this question. "Let's see what information you're hiding about this." Ri'oha said, latching her tail on Elfraüx's head. Just then, she was show images from Elfraüx's mind.

[Vision in Elfraüx's Mind]

Early FarWorld visitors were teaching the M'arillians the trick of using mind control on some old prisoners. In due time, the secret passed down to the M'arillian leader, Aa'une.

[Vision End]

Ri'oha gasped at what she saw. "What is it, Ri'oha?" Maxxor asked. "The FarWorlders. They've actually been here before in the past. They taught the early M'arrillians the secrets of their mind control power. And that secret was passed down to Aa'une." Ri'oha explained. Everyone gasped at this. Maxxor glared at Elfraüx. "GUARDS!" He roared. 4 guards, one from each Tribe, rushed into the council chamber. "Take this FarWorld slime and get rid of him!" Maxxor ordered. But before the guards could make their move, Elfraüx used his mind control on them after seeing that they weren't wearing Mindbenders. "Oh no!" Verlina cried. "I'm not the enemy! They are! Destroy the Alliance leaders! And their human pet too!" Elfraüx ordered. The mind-controlled guards fired their BattleGear on their own leaders, forcing them to release Elfraüx. Maxxor and the others quickly recovered and started firing back, knocking out the guards. But then they noticed that Elfraüx was gone. There was a hole in the wall, leading out into the city. Najarin flew up to the hole, along with Akkrean and Frafdo. "Maxxor, what happened?" He asked. "Elfraüx attacked us and escaped! We have to find him and get rid of him before he makes it back to the Cliffends!" Maxxor exclaimed. "I'm afraid we have bigger problems on our hands. We just got word that Chaor has assembled his army and is making his way to the Cliffends himself." Najarin said. The leaders were shocked at this. Especially Sidney. "My friends are there!" She exclaimed. "Then we'll have to intercept Chaor and his army!" Takinom exclaimed. "Agreed." Maxxor said.

Meanwhile, just as Najarin had said, Chaor and his followers were on their way towards the Cliffends. "There's no way Maxxor can stop us this time. Soon, we will know what these FarWorlders know, and then the Cothica will be mine!" He declared. Van Bloot glared down at Chaor as he flew above him. 'And when the time is right, I'll take the Cothica from you, Chaor, and then Perim will be mine!' He thought.

Meanwhile, Minnie, Robbie, Gisele, Nika and Krista were waiting around Elfraüx's pod at the Cliffends. Minnie checked out the pod while Nika and Krista played with their Chaotic cards as Robbie and Gisele watched. "Ooh, tough luck, Nika. Mind Mash attack brings Kerric's energy down to 15." Krista said as she tossed down an Attack card, making Nika groan. Then she held out a Mugic card, Strain of the Tide. "And now Jaidwarl casts a Strain of the Tide Mugic, which lets me heal him by 10 per Creature in my discard pile." Robbie and Gisele were in awe at this move as Krista held up Quadore and Bidua. "So, by removing Quadore and Bidua from the game, Jaidwarl gains back 20 energy." Now Nika was getting really agitated. "Wow. This pod is truly fascinating. I've only seen technology like this in sci-fi movies." Minnie said as she inspected the pod. "GUYS!" Sidney's voice screamed. Everyone turned to see her running towards them. "Sid, what's wrong?" Gisele asked as Sidney stopped in front of the card game. "Elfraüx escaped as the Alliance caught on to him! And now Chaor's army is on its way here too!" Sidney exclaimed as she panted to catch her breath. The group was shocked to hear that. "Elfraüx let it slip to Chaor that the pod can contact his FarWorld buddies and/or locate the Cothica." Sidney explained. "Then Elfraüx and Chaor are both on their way here." Minnie said. "Elfraüx maybe. But Maxxor, Intress, Verlina and the others are on their way to intercept Chaor's army as we speak." Sidney said. "Did you warn your parents about what's happening?" Krista asked. "Yes. I went ahead and called them before porting here. Now we better get ready for when Elfraüx shows up. Whatever's in this pod, I'm pretty sure it's not good." Sidney said.

Meanwhile, Chaor continued leading his army towards the Cliffends. "The Cliffends are just beyond that ridge." He said, pointing towards a ridge that leads to the Cliffends. But before they could continue, Najarin, Akkrean and Frafdo showed up. "Out of my way, Najarin!" Chaor exclaimed. Suddenly, an Ember Swarm was shot right past him. He turned to see Maxxor, Intress and Verlina coming in driving on a Levitaar, Mudeenu on a Mowercycle, Odu and Smildon on a couple Skeletal Steeds, and Takinom and Ri'oha just flew right in. "No big surprise seeing you here, Maxxor." Chaor said. Drabe growled as he walked up. "Practicing for the Rogue's Day parade, Chaor?" Maxxor asked mockingly. "You know very well that we're here to get the pod you left in the Cliffends and locate the Cothica with it. And there's nothing you lot can do to stop me and my army from doing that!" Chaor exclaimed. Maxxor and the others just smiled at each other before charging into battle.

Maxxor charged into Chaor while the others handled the army. Drabe attacked with Earth Pulse, but Verlina dodged the attack and hit him and several soldiers with Flood Force. Takinom, Najarin, Frafdo and Akkrean attacked Van Bloot together, but then they were swarmed by several more soldiers with Cyclances. But Mudeenu and Odu blew them away with Fearocity and Lavalanche. Intress, Smildon and Ri'oha charged towards several more soldiers led by Atrapol. Intress attacked with Fluidmight, knocking a few soldiers down. But Atrapol attacked with Arbor Smash, knocking Intress out. "Mom!" Verlina cried before Drabe delivered a Flash Kick, knocking her out. Van Bloot attacked with several Flame Orbs, but the flyers dodged each one. Najarin attacked with Shadow Strike and Takinom attacked with Slashclaw, hitting Van Bloot. But he quickly recovered. "Paral-Eyes!" He hit Takinom with Paral-Eyes and paralyzed her, causing her to fall. "Takinom!" Najarin exclaimed. But then Van Bloot blasted him with Torrent of Flame, knocking him down. Maxxor struggled against Chaor, attacking with Ember Swarm. But Chaor shook off the bugs and attacked with Magma Might, knocking Maxxor down. The others were knocked down too. "This will be my ultimate triumph! Seizing the Cothica, destroying the Alliance, and ruling Perim!" Chaor exclaimed.

But as the army surrounded them, Maxxor blew them back with Ash Torrent and Intress aided with Hail Storm. "Mom, look out!" Verlina yelled. Intress ducked as Drabe tried to slice her with a Hornblade. Verlina attacked with Inferno Gust, sending Drabe flying. The others got back up and joined Maxxor's family back-to-back against Chaor's army. "You can't possibly stop my entire army, Maxxor!" Chaor chuckled. "We don't have to. They will." Maxxor said, pointing out. Chaor turned his head and to his surprise, he saw an entire Alliance army. "You thought we wouldn't come after you without a plan, Chaor?" Odu asked. "We were just keeping you busy until our friends got here." Takinom said. Maxxor gave the signal to attack. The Alliance started firing their BattleGear at Chaor's army. "Intress, Verlina, Najarin, take charge! Keep hammering Chaor's army! Start pushing them back to the Passage!" Maxxor exclaimed. "What about you and the other leaders? Where are you guys going?" Intress asked. "To stop Elfraüx. Getting Chaor involved in this was just a distraction. Elfraüx wants to contact his fellow FarWorlders. But he's not doing it without a fight." Maxxor said as he hustled to his Levitaar, started it up and drove off with Takinom, Mudeenu, Odu, Smildon and Ri'oha following close behind.

Meanwhile, Sidney and her friends still waited by the pod at the Cliffends. While they waited, Robbie, Gisele, Nika and Krista fell asleep next to the pod. Minnie put a blanket she brought over Robbie to make him cozy. As she did that, she looked at Sidney, who was looking up at the stars. "You really think what Elfraüx said was true? That there could be other FarWorlders out there beyond the stars?" She asked. "Who knows? But if there are, with whatever Elfraüx is planning, I doubt they'll be friendly." Sidney said. Suddenly, they heard a twig snap. Robbie, Gisele, Nika and Krista jolted awake from the sound. They quickly took cover as Elfraüx came into view. He walked over to the pod and started digging through it. "What's he looking for?" Krista whispered. "I don't know." Minnie whispered. Just then, Elfraüx pulled out some kind of disk device. Sidney's group watched closely as he set the device down, pressed a button on his wrist and activated a hologram of a hooded figure. "Well?" The figure asked. "I am preparing the device, Lord Veltraüx. But I'm afraid that it was slightly damaged when I crashed. The portal will only have enough power to stay open for a few minutes, allowing a slight few of our brothers through." Elfraüx explained. "Good. That will give me enough time to locate your portal's coordinates and open another portal once we have enough power." The figure said. "Then shall I begin the invasion, my lord?" Elfraüx asked. "Yes. The FarWorld Invasion begins now." The figure said as the hologram shut off.

But as Elfraüx prepared the device, Maxxor and the others showed up, surprising him. Maxxor attacked with Lavalanche. But Elfraüx dodged it and attacked with multiple Magma Mights, knocking everyone down. "Maxxor!" Sidney cried as she and her group ran out to help them. "Ah, the human allies. You're all just in time to witness my greatest achievement for the FarWorlders." Elfraüx said. He activated his device and it began charging up. "No! We can't let him activate that device! It's gonna open a portal to let his friends through to Perim!" Sidney exclaimed as she started to run over to Elfraüx. "Sid, no! He'll destroy you in a second!" Minnie exclaimed, stopping her friend. The device fully charged up and activated a portal. Everyone stared in shock at this. "Scan it! Quick!" Sidney exclaimed as she and her group pulled out their scanners and scanned the portal. Elfraüx glowed in his golden aura and levitated into the air. "Long live the FarWorlders!" He exclaimed, cackling in victory as 4 of his fellow FarWorlders started coming through the portal. "Port out! Now!" Sidney shrieked as Elfraüx and the FarWorlders flew over them. The portal device lost power and imploded, shutting down the portal and creating a large dust cloud. Sidney's group ported back to Chaotic as Maxxor and the others got caught in the cloud and were blown away from the Cliffends.
