"The Grim Adventures of Bullwinkle and Rocky!"
(Or "The Rock-culty"!")
"WELL THE LAST TIME YOU REMEMBER, ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE HAD FINALLY DISCOVERED A WAY TO OFF THE ANIMATRONIC VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES..."
(*Brief montage of Rocky and Bullwinkle strapping soda cans to their bodies like an action movie*)
"Looks like these guys'll need a doctor…." Rocky spoke, painting two black lines across his face. "Cause we're BRINGIN' THE PEPPER!"
"THAT ONE-LINER DID NOT SOUND AS GOOD AS ROCKY HAD HOPED."
"Yeah no kiddin', pal." Bullwinkle replied.
"NEVERTHLESS, ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE WENT INTO ACTION, SPRAYING SODA ON WHATEVER MALICIOUS ANIMATRONIC THAT CAME THEIR WAY..."
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Both Rocky and Bullwinkle exclaimed, cracking opening up every can of Tab they had.
"EVENTUALLY OF COURSE, THE SEEMINGLY NEVER-ENDING SUPPLY OF OLD SODA RAN OUT."
"Oh...we're, uh...out." Bullwinkle remarked.
"Yep." Rocky replied.
"ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE PAUSED FOR A FEW MINUTES, AND SO DID THEIR ANIMATRONIC DOUBLES. THE SKIN FROM THE BULLWINKLE ANIMATRONIC STARTED TO PEEL OFF LIKE A RIPE ORANGE, REVEALING A METALLIC SKELETON."
"Shouldn't we, uh, y'know?" Bullwinkle asked.
"Yeah." Rocky replied, grabbing Bullwinkle's hand.
"ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE RAN AND RAN, AND PRETTY SOON THEY'D BECOME CORNERED BY THE ANIMATRONIC VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES!"
"Looks like this is the end old pal..." Bullwinkle gulped. "For my final moments I'm just gonna close my eyes an' wish it was just us back at the house...back at th' house eatin' my aunt's gumbo..."
"Yeah..." Rocky replied, just as his robotic doppelgänger bought a pizza knife close to his neck. "I never thought I'd get maimed by...me..."
"Now that I think about it, where'd that Fred guy go?" Bullwinkle asked, scratching the top of his head. "He was in charge of this thing. You sure this isn't a Fonzie Scheme, Rock?"
"That's Ponzi--AAAGH!" Rocky exclaimed, dodging an attack from his own robotic double's fists.
"THE ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE ANIMATROMICS APPROACHED OUR BOYS, ALONG WITH DUDLEY, UNDERDOG AND SNIDELY."
"IM' GOING TO EAT YOUR LE-LE-LE-LE-LE-LEGS!" The Snidely animatronic exclaimed, short-circuiting and revealing a metallic chrome skin underneath like the Bullwinkle animatronic.
"I LOVE YOU ROCKYYYY!!" Bullwinkle frighteningly exclaimed as the animatronics got closer and closer.
"SUDDENLY, THE ALARM CLOCK IN THE BREAK ROOM BEEPED, SIGNALING THAT IT WAS NOW ONE IN THE MORNING. THE ANIMATRONICS POWERED DOWN, THEIR FRIGHTENING FEATURES STILL REMAINING. ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE OPENED THEIR EYES, GASPING."
"Huh." Bullwinkle replied, poking the nose of his animatronic. "Guess that's that them..."
--
"AND SO, WITH THE ROBOTS DEFEATED, ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE HAD WON THE CONTEST, JUST AS DAWN BROKE—"
(*KRAK!*)
"IN NO TIME AT ALL, THE OLD BULLWINKLE'S RESTAURANT WAS BACK TO ITS FULL GLORY. THE GAMES WERE UP AND RUNNING, THE PIZZA WAS MORE DELICIOUS THAN EVER, AND AS FOR THE ROBOTS?"
"Whoops!" The animatronics mechanic chuckled, looking at a switch on the back of the Rocky animatronic. "Looks like I accidentally set this thing to "evil" the whole time!"
"ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE GROWLED AT FRED."
"What?" The mechanic replied, shrugging.
"WELL THAT ABOUT WRAPS UP THIS EXTRA SPOOKY ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE, MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE NEXT EPISODE!"
End….HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Horror film/tv/game references:
- The title and plot is an obvious reference to the 2014 smash hit video game "Five Nights at Freddy's", with other titles also referencing classic animatronic-filled restaurants like "The Rock-a-Fire Explosion".
- In addition, "Fred" the ex-security guard is also an obvious reference to said games.
- "Dusk", the film that Rocky and Bullwinkle watch is a very on the nose parody of the 2009 film "Twilight" (and the resulting "Team Jacob/Edward" thing, which I did not care for and still do not).
- "The Grim Adventures of Bullwinkle and Rocky" is meant to be a pun on "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy", a 2001-08 animated tv show from Cartoon Network's golden age.
- "The Rock-culty" title is meant to be a pun on the 1998 Robert Rodriguez sci-fi movie "The Faculty"—heck, originally this whole story's plot line would've been a parody of said movie.
