Chapter Five
The last few days were great as Danny helped Sam finish her assignments as she protested about it on Thursday. Friday, Danny spent the day with his friends as they went to the mall. Saturday, Amber came over and helped her finish her work. To his surprise, his parents ended up liking Amber. They even invited the girl to dinner so they could get to know her.
Today was the party that his parents had been planning. Danny was sitting in his house as he watched people come into the house. Danny's parents throw a party every few months as they invite friends, employees, and co-workers. Danny then heard Natalie tell the caters what they couldn't serve. Danny sighed as he watched the woman come out of the kitchen.
" Hey, Natalie," Danny says as he takes in her appearance.
She wore A long dark purple strapless dress that went with her figure as it slightly hugged her waist. The woman wore diamond earrings and had straightened her naturally curly black hair as it went two her mid-back. She wore light makeup that enriched her brown eyes and kissable lips. Danny couldn't help but feel drawn to her beauty.
" You look beautiful," the boy complimented her as he received a blush and a thank you. He began to go upstairs and change.
Danny took a shower and got dressed in a fancy black suit. He looked at himself in the mirror and noticed his hair was freshly cut and slicked back. His face was cleanly shaven as opposed to his stubble showing. He noticed he was missing his tie, as it was in the laundry room. Still, the suit fitted him perfectly as it made him look more masculine. Danny then walks downstairs and sees his parents talking to each other. He smiled as they shared a moment as lovers.
Time skip. Forty minutes.
Danny was walking inside the house to get something to drink. He couldn't enjoy the view of Amity Park because of the workers trying to prepare the backyard. Natalie is in the kitchen talking to the caters as Danny enters the room. He then hears the woman explain to the chefs that he had to avoid cooking with certain ingredients. Danny sighs as the woman is working too hard and going to be exhausted before the party begins.
" Natalie, you need to calm down," Danny says as the woman turns to face him. Danny sighed as he knew Natalie was stubborn, so he had to be logical about it.
" Listen, I understand that you feel that you need to make sure that the party is perfect because you are my mom's assistant. But today is your day off from doing any work for the mayor, so you shouldn't be trying to make the party perfect. I would also like to mention that you are a guest as you were invited to the party, so you shouldn't be trying to help as you are our guest," Danny said as he led the woman to the living room. Natalie tried to convince Danny that she could still help with the decorations but gave up on the fact Danny was not going to budge as she sat on the couch.
Danny sighed as he went to the kitchen and got a bottle of water as he then walked to the kitchen island and saw Maddie talking on the phone.
She looked shocked and sad as he realized something was wrong.
" Ann, that is terrible. I can't believe James would do something like that," Maddie says as she talks to her sister on the phone. Allison walked up next to him as they listened to Maddie. She was on the phone with her sister Ann Possible Maddie's twin sister, and something happened to her as the conversation continued.
" Okay, we'll pick you up tomorrow," Maddie says as she finishes the call. She turns around and sees her wife and son standing there, concerned.
" That was my sister. Her divorce is official, and she lost everything. James got custody of the children and won the house," Maddie says as Allison gasps, and Danny shakes his head.
Ann is a good person who always helps others before herself. Seven months ago, she walked in on her husband cheating on her with another woman. Once caught, James then decided to belittle the woman. He told Ann that she was selfish with her career as she didn't care about her family.
He began to manipulate the children and convince them that Ann was a terrible mother. He filed for a divorce and fought to keep the house and sole custody of the kids as he tried to destroy the woman financially. James wasn't satisfied with doing just that and wanted the woman out of his life for good. He destroyed Ann's career by spreading pictures of when Ann was a stripper in college. He succeeded as Ann lost half of her money and was humiliated at the hospital, as she had to move out of her home. Luckily Ann applied for the head neurosurgeon position at Amity Park hospital, as she wanted to be closer to the family in her time of need.
Danny was surprised that James won everything he wanted as he made Ann his victim and destroyed her life. He wanted the man to suffer for what he did to Ann as she helped Maddie after Jack's death by watching Danny when he was younger.
" So what's going to happen with aunt Ann now, mom," Danny asked.
" Well, she is going to stay with us. After all, we are the only family she has left," Maddie said. Danny watched his mothers leave the kitchen as he was left feeling sorry for Ann.
Suddenly Danny heard the doorbell ring as the first guests of the party arrived.
