This is a short story I wrote in response to a request on the great Sound-of-Music-fics forum, musing on what might have happened if Maria had not returned to the Abbey...

"Fraulein, I think it's clear by now you can't help but attract my attention, and I can't help but notice you." She gave him a sad little smile. "The trouble is Captain, I don't want to be noticed by people like you." [A/U]

"Hoarders," she whispered under her breath as she scanned the barcodes of the mountain of items before her. She almost rolled her eyes – there were many things she could tolerate, but she just didn't understand hoarders. "Apparently, catering for the needs of seven children make me appear like a hoarder," he visibly rolled his eyes. Seven children? Quarantine Modern A/U!

After the rowboat tipped, everything changed between Maria and the Captain. Something strong kept pulling them together, even though they refused to fall in love.

arranged marriage au, 1930s austria / Maria and Georg find themselves on the road to an arranged marriage organized by his mother and her uncle. Neither is happy about the situation and immediately dislikes the other. This story chronicles their engagement, the wedding, and the aftermath.

Maria experiences a jealousy that she hadn't before with someone other than the Baroness on a family trip into town. Will it drive her away from the Captain or catapult them towards one another? Set in a short amount of time in between when the Baroness takes her leave and the Captain follows Maria to the gazebo. I do not own the SOM.

These are ficlets of scene inspirations. They are inspired by the movie or the script or the music or whatever strikes my fancy. I probably won't elaborate on them, because I find it exhausting to write longer fic. There will be no rhyme or reason to the order I upload them in. I just enjoy writing these sorts of things and hope you enjoy reading them.
