"Please Protect My Little Sister—The Poem"

Cooling embers of a dream.
A vision of glorious, golden meadows,
Stretching into infinite space.
And I see you--
Eyes like the stars,
Smooth cheeks,
Rosy lips parted
Laughing.
And then, suddenly,
You were gone.
So many long years spent alone.
How I searched…
In every girl I seemed to see,
Just a hint of,
You.
But realizing that in the end,
No one could replace you—
You are the only one I have loved,
You have my heart,
If I could, I would give you the world.
You have my soul.
Fate toys with me,
She is the vicious, omnipotent predator,
The eternal hunter who tracks me … stealing my prizes.
She took you.
But then, as if to torture me further,
she granted me my wish because
You were returned to me.
To my jaded life.
You were even more beautiful,
Than in my dreams….
But it was not meant to be,
I was not destined to be your true love.
So here I am.
Giving you away to another man—
A black haired King:
I smile to you across the room,
While my heart shatters
