The Real Petunia

The Real Petunia

A/N ok first of all, I know that a pregnancy doesn't take a period of weeks, my mom delivers babies, but thank you for bringing that to my attention that it sounds like it takes such a short time. Since I really don't feel like going back and fixing it, I know…I'm lazy, we'll just say that it has taken about nine months already. Ok second thing, I know this is really short but I really want to get to the good part with Lily grown up more and I can't think of a lot to say for this part. Now I'm done jabbering so read and review, please!

Finally Marigold came to due to the waves of pain racking her body. Oh no!!, she thought, I'm having contractions and Petunia out wandering the streets somewhere. "Henry!!" she screamed as more pain shot through her, "Henry, get the car or something, I'm in labor!!" Henry rushed down the stairs and ran outside to start the car. He then came back in the house and helped Marigold into the car. "Drive", Marigold commanded. Henry smiled and started to back out of the driveway not noticing the little figure rushing out behind the car until he had almost hit it. He jumped out of the car leaving a very confused Marigold and ran to the back of the car. There he saw Petunia, clutching a suitcase and looking very angry.

Henry was first relieved, then angry. "Petunia" he asked in as calm as a voice as he could muster, "what are you doing?" "Well Daddy" Petunia answered grinning, "I'm running away, and I'm very happy about it". Henry looked at her with amazement, most little girls would be terrified at the thought of leaving their parents, but not Petunia, she was different. He then scooped her up and brought her to the car. "Marigold" he yelled over Petunia's screams of protest "I found Petunia". Marigold looked very relieved but then her face tensed up as a contraction yet again shook her body. Henry looked at his watch, it was a magical watch, and shook his head. The hand was pointed at baby on its way but it suddenly jumped to Hurry Up! Baby almost there! He put Petunia in the back seat and pulled out of the driveway and sped down the highway to the hospital. Finally they were there and Henry carried a crying Petunia up the steps of the hospital and told her to wait in the waiting room. He then ran out to the car and helped Marigold into the hospital. They had barely got her into a room when Marigold became complete and began pushing. Half an hour later Marigold was holding a small baby, named Lily.

A WEEK LATER AT HOME

Marigold and Henry were cooing over their darling baby Lily while Petunia sulked in the background. She was mad at her parents for paying so much attention to her little sister instead of her. She decided the best way to get her parents attention was to throw a tantrum, so she did. Petunia threw herself down on the floor and screamed like she was going to die any minute. Henry and Marigold came running into the room carrying a screaming Lily. "Petunia!" Henry yelled, "what are you doing, you're going to hurt the baby's ears". Petunia kept right on screaming. "I hope the baby's eardrums burst," she screamed. Henry was getting angry so he marched up and grabbed onto Petunia's hand. "That's is young lady," he said "to your room, now!!" Petunia marched up to her room crying the whole time. She slammed the door to her room and began screaming again.

Henry and Marigold looked at each other and sighed. "Petunia's not doing to well with the baby," said Marigold as she rocked little Lily back to sleep. "What are we going to do Marigold?" asked Henry. Marigold laid the baby in its crib and leaned against her husband, "I don't know Henry, I really don't know".

MANY YEARS LATER

Petunia is 11 and Lily is 6

Petunia's attitude toward her parents or her sister had not changed in the last 6 years. Even though the family had moved back into the wizarding world and Petunia was awaiting her Hogwarts letter she was not happy. She hated her parents for having another child, she wanted their attention, needed it and they gave it to little Lily. Henry and Marigold were both worn to a frazzle trying to take care of both Lily and Petunia, who was getting meaner by the day. They wondered what they had done wrong to make Petunia so mean.

Marigold came down the stairs holding the hand of 6-year-old Lily. They were going out shopping for some cookbooks at Diagon Ally and they were going to get Lily some new shoes. Lily was marching around the room proudly announcing that she was going to gets some new "choes". Her mother laughed and told Lily that it was Shoes not choes. Just then Petunia came down the stairs and glared at her sister and mother as she walked past them. "Petunia dear" asked Marigold, "would you like to come shopping with us?" "No mother!" was Petunias reply; "you know I'm waiting for my Hogwarts letter so I can get out of this dump!" With that she walked outside and plopped down on the grass to wait for the letter. Lily and Marigold walked past her and Marigold sighed, what was she going to do with Petunia.

SEPTEMBER 1st

Petunia was sulking around the kitchen occasionally knocking pots and pans off the shelves with her wand. I haven't gotten a Hogwarts letter; I'm not good enough, thought Petunia. She finally broke down and cried she was so upset, her parents had promised her she would get into Hogwarts. They lied! She thought spitefully, how could they; they probably knew I wasn't going to get a letter. Her parents weren't home. Her mom had gone out with Lily again and her dad was at work. She felt like screaming, some parents they were, they aren't even home to comfort there daughter. She vowed to herself then and there never to have anything to do with her parents or the wizarding world once she had grown up. "Never!" she yelled into the empty house "Never ever!"

Marigold came home around 6 with Lily and Henry came home shortly after. "Petunia" asked Marigold, "Did your letter come today?" Petunia just glared at her mother and finally answered screaming, "Do you really think I got it?!, would I be here now if I had got it!!" She then ran up to her room and slammed her door. Henry sighed as he looked down at Lily, who looked very frightened, "De ja vu, eh?" Marigold looked over at her husband and sweet little girl and nodded, "How can we get her to stop throwing tantrums, and what are we going to do about school, we all know that she's a witch". "Seems like I'm always saying this darling" started Henry, "But I really don't know, we've got to do something, how about Durmstrang or Beauxbatons?" "Maybe" answered Marigold, "Maybe".

A/N ok that last section was just to show how Petunia reacted to her not getting into Hogwarts, and how angry was. The next part will be more about Lily, as she gets older and how Petunia treats her.

Disclaimer: I only own Marigold and Henry everything else belongs to J.K.
