It was nearly blocked from view. Long strands of golden grass and straw shaded it from view. Yet he knew it was there. It always was.
Slowly, he stalked forward, feeling his bones groan in agony. As he grew nearer, his eyes began to tear. Her soft brown hair, her eyes; glowing vibrantly in her youth. A crystal tear streamed down his cheek, curving it's way down his soft chisled cheek, dripping down onto his collar.
Kneeling down to peel the weeds and grass away, his eyes raked over the stone; absorbing the engraved name, though he had read it so many times. His feet had brought him here everyday for the past decade, calling to him.
He sat beside the stone, stroking it's grainy and cold texture with his left hand. She had been so young, so... alive. How could Fate have stolen such a precious person from them?
Tears dripped down his face in a steady stream now, memories enveloping him. Plucking the flowers he had stored in his shirt pocket, he placed them down on the stone over the name. Noting the setting of the sun, he tucked his hands back into his pockets and walked slowly to the road, as slow as he had came.
Not once did he turn to view the stone. He never did see the wind sprites that had brushed the flowers aside to view the name boldy engraved "Ellone Loire".
