Heart of Another Color - Part 2 Author's Note: Okay, here's the next part!!!!!!! I am still going to write(even w/ the reveiw thing)!!!!!!!! Sorry, I thought the bottle of cough syrup said 4 teaspoons every 2 hours, but it was 2 teaspoons every 4 hours. Anywho*ignores looks* I don't own Harry Potter or any other related characters, Except for Amy and Janie. Okay, I'm done. Read on.

It was a long way to the north tower and me and Lily were almost late.
When class started it was interesting, though.
The professor (Professor Trelawney) was so fake and then she "predicted" that Carrie was going to die.
"Now, " she said. "Do try and read each others tea leaves."
After me and Lily had drunken the tea and swirled the dregs, we switched cups.
"Yours says that you will have happiness and great sorrow in your life, " I said to her. "Huh? That's funny. What does mine say."
"Yours says that you will have sorrow, uh, pain, and, umm, betrayal in your future."
"Oh, well that's just wonderful."
"Too bad. But this is really just a load of rubbish anyway."
"Tell that to Trelawney." We giggled.
In Transfiguration we learned about Animagi, wizards and witches who can turn into animals. I was pretty neat when she turned herself into a cat and back. It gave me an idea. But I should test it out first, was what I thought.
Care of Magical Creatures was an all right class, but come on, who wants to know about flobberworms?
Sirius became a beater on the Gryffindor Quidditch team (big surprise), and we beat out Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw in the first two games of the season.
Hogsmeade was the absolute best! I liked the joke shop and the Three Broomsticks, but absolutely hated it when Lily dragged me into the post office. It was torture. All those birds and I couldn't eat one! And when we ran into a cat outside Honeydukes, it was most interesting, Seeing as I had all of my friends with me and the cat pretty much tried to attack me. But they got over it, I hope.
But I'd have to say that Christmas was the highlight of the year.

Only me, Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus stayed behind in Gryffindor. Peter's uncle was visiting for Christmas and Peter had to go see him.
Anyway, on Christmas Eve, I had five days to go to the full moon and was in my extreme stage.
I was a bit upset because 1.) It was almost Christmas and 2.) I had taken to finding all of the passage ways in Hogwarts on my controlled nights and was upset to miss that as well.
I told Lily I was sick and then at five-thirty the usual business happened.
But, at three in the morning, Lily woke up.
"Amy, you here?" she asked as she pushed aside my curtains.
A scream, that I heard, due to werecat hearing, pierced the night.
Lily raced into the boy's dormitory.
"James! Sirius! Wake up, you! Wake up!"
"Lily? It's three in the morning."
"Amy is gone!"
"What?"
A lamp came on and James scrambled to find his glasses.
"What the hell do you mean by 'gone' ?" asked James.
" What do you think? I mean she's not there!"
" Maybe she went to see Madame Pomfrey?" suggested Sirius.
"No, no. She said she was going to bed early and she would have told me if she had to go see Madame Pomfrey, or she'd have left a note."
"Okay, " said James. " Maybe she's off getting in trouble."
"No, she'd tell me that too."
"Lily, I think you're over reacting. Amy's fine, " said Sirius. "Where else could she- " I yoweld "- be. . . ."
They all looked at each other.
"Ya know what, I'm gonna go back to sleep. Then, when we wake up, Amy's gonna have a lot of questions to answer."
Lily kept to her word.
At nine o' clock that morning, after breakfast, Lily and every one else gave me the Suspicious Friends Inquisition. (Think Salem, think witch burning.)
"Amy, where were you at three in the morning?" asked Lily.
I put down my book. "Huh?"
"Oh, don't 'Huh?' me! You were gone!"
"Yeah, so?"
"Where did you go?"
"Not really any of your business." It was a game I played with Janie, to annoy her and keep her off my back. On Lily it wasn't highly effective.
" Yes, it is, Miss Werecat!"
All of the guys were looking at us now.
" Good guess. Correct. Took you long enough to figure out. What d'you think, Remus?"
"Well, it took them longer to figure you out than me."
"You knew!" said James.
"Of course I did. Amy figured me out on the first full moon of the year on our first year. She cornered me and she promised not to tell anyone my secret, and vice versa."
"You nearly gave me a heart attack!" screeched Lily.
"Oh, so you're the one who screamed. I missed the mouse I was after. I got him later though, I think."
"Oh, that's gross, just gross."
"Hey, what can I say? I'm part cat and I was hungry. What else was I to eat, a giant spider?"
"You could if you wanted to, " said Sirius.
"I know that."
"Why didn't you tell me?" said Lily.
" Why do you think?" I said standing up. "Probably the same reason Remus didn't tell us that he's a werewolf. I think he got off pretty lucky, he only transforms during a full moon, I do it every night! It's not easy!"
"You don't bite yourself."
"True, I don't. But it's still tougher in the end. I don't get enough sleep, my grades slip, plus it is very hard not to sneak up to the Owlery at night and eat some ones pet!"
"Thank you for telling us that. Ick!" was all Lily said.
"Well, I miss dinner! What am I supposed to eat?"
"Good question. No werewolves, " said Remus.
" You do stay in that house, don't you? Or else werewolf might be on the menu."
"No, I stay inside."
"Good."
There was about a minutes silence, then:
"So, you can run faster than a unicorn, eh, " said Sirius.
I laughed and sat down. "Easily."
The rest of the afternoon was spent with answering questions about being a werecat or asking questions about being a werewolf. I should have known that true friends wouldn't care if you were a freak of nature. Just as long as Peter never found out.
"Why not?"
"I don't want him to know, okay. I just don't."
" Why?"
"Look, " I said, gritting my teeth, " I know all of the secret passages around the castle. I would have no problem coming in and scaring you to death if you did tell. And with Peter, he would literally be scared to death."
"Big threat."
"Either that or you'll be gumming down gruel at an early age."
"That works."
That afternoon, when we were in our dorm, around four, Lily said:
"Amy, could I see you, in cat form."
"Well, I don't know. You could if you look out that window and look towards the forest."
"Amy, Sirius and James and Remus want to see to."
"And they stuck you with the task of asking me. Some boyfriend you've got."
"Ammmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !" she said and threw a pillow at me. I knocked it aside.
"Sor-ree. Look we're the only ones here, right. They can come in to see me, if you ever do, and then leave once I'm gone."
"Okay."
So, at five thirty I transformed and then I left my passage and went out onto the grounds. I stood there for a second, in the middle of the snow, and looked up.
The sight of all my friends waving at me some how made me more human, for a while. I yoweld at them, a friendly one, and then left for the forest.
I arrived back at five and slept until six-fifty, when Lily woke me up.
"Look!" she said. "Presents!"
"Let's take them up to the boy's dorm to open them, seeing as they were in ours last night."
"Did you see us?" she asked, scooping up her gifts.
"Yeah. I did."
"You yoweld at us."
"Of course I did, " I said as we reached the door to the boy's dormitories. "It was a hello."
"Sounded kinda scary, to me."
"Of course it did."
We had come to the door to their dorm. I put my ear up to the door.
"It's safe, " I said. "They're asleep. Let's wake them up."
We opened the door.
"Rise and shine! Merry Christmas!" said Lily, opening the curtains.
There was some grumbling at this.
"Wake up!" I said. "I've gotten less sleep than you have! Wake up. Open your presents!"
They all got up at this.
"You're not to be in here, " said Sirius.
"We know that, you idiot, " I said, shoving a present into his hands.
"Fine, " said James. "It's okay with me as long as you've gotten me good presents."
We opened our presents. I got a book from Hagrid (The New and Improved Wizards Guide to Rare, Strange, and Magical Creatures 2), and five other books from my parents (most on werecats; that made me laugh), a box of Berdie Bott's Every Flavor Beans from Sirius (I got him the same thing. We opened each other's gifts at the same time and every one laughed), a chocolate frog from James, a book on werwolves from Remus, a new quill from Lily, and a Fizzing Whizbee from Peter (what is it with guys and candy?).
After we had all put our gifts away, we went down for breakfast, and then had a snowball fight outside on the grounds. Me and Lily went against the guys in a contest to see who could build the best snowman. We could.
Christmas dinner was about as good as the rest of the day had been and I turned into a werecat at night. In a few words, the day was fine.

In our fourth year at Hogwarts the wizarding world became ever so slightly aware of Lord Voldemort, and people began to fear him. The fact that he hadn't really killed anyone yet kept the whole wizarding world away from sheer panic.

"Hey,Amy! How was your summer?"
"Oh,hi Sirius!"
It was September first and we were about to board the Hogwarts Express.
"James and the rest have saved you a seat. They sent me out to look for you."
"Well, you found me. Now help me with my trunk."
He grabbed one end and helped me towards the train.
"What do you have in here? Bricks?"
"Oh, shut up."
We managed to get to the cart. I put away my trunk amd sat down next to Lily.
"Hi Lily."
"Hi, Amy. Did you hear?"
" 'Bout what?"
Lily gave an exasperated sigh. I rolled my eyes.
"The dance!"
"What dance?"
"The big dance! It's happening over Christmas break! Fourth years and up!"
"Oh, that dance."
"Amy, shut up. You don't have a date!"
"It isn't even the first day of school, Lily! We've got months!"
Lily ignored me and went right on chatting. The rest of the group sighed.
"Leave it to me," I whispered to Sirius.
"Oh my God! It's a big hairy spider!" I screamed.
"Where?!" she shrieked.
"Got ya."
"Amy!"
Sirius nearly fell off his seat. "Well, it got you quiet," he managed to say.
Lily allowed herself to laugh.

"Amy!"
"What is it now, Lily?"
"Hello, it's a week from Christmas! You don't have a date!"
"Lily, you're smart. But sometimes you seem like the dimest bulb on the tree."
"It's not my fault you don't have a date."
"Lily, we all knew that James would ask you. So don't use any of that as an example."
"Fine."
We headed down into the common room.
"Look, there's James! I gotta go!" Lily was off like a shot. I shook my head.
"Hey, Amy."
"Hi, Sirius."
"What's wrong with you?"
"Lily. She won't come down to Earth and it's bugging me."
"James is being the same way."
"Has he asked you to be best man at their wedding?"
"You better not let him hear you say that."
"I don't care."
"Amy?"
"Yeah?"
"Would you like to go to the dance with me?"
"What?! I mean....wait.... yes." I honestly didn't think any one would even dream of asking me, so you really can't blame my excuse for an answer, can you?
"Great, see ya later."
"Well?"
"Lily, don't do that!"
"Sidetracked?" She gave me the most annoying smile.
"Oh, shut up, you."
"You knew he was going to ask you, right?"
"Uh, no."
"Everyone else could tell but you."
"Tell what?"
"That he likes you, of course."
"Whatever. Look, I'm going down to lunch, alright?"
"How can you think about your stomach at a time like this! Your whole romantic future may have just unfolded itself!"

"You had a fun time and you know it!"
It was just after the dance and Lily hadn't laid off all the way to our dormitory.
"It was just a dance, Lily. That was all."
"Suit yourself. You had fun. You know you did."
"Lily," I said.
"What?"
"Shut up and go to sleep."

I tried out my plan, which was to become an Animagus, in my fifth year, when I though I could manage it. It worked on the fifth try and I became a bear. A yellow bear. I help Sirius, James, and Peter become Animagi as well, so they could be with Remus in his werewolf form. They did it, too. James was a stag, Sirius a dog, and Peter ( not to my surprise) became a rat. And due to an amount of eavesdropping, I helped them make the Marauders Map. Sirius got three months detention because he pulled a trick on Snape, who was very interested in where Remus went every month, and nearly killed him (Remus nearly killed Snape). James got Snape out of that mess, at great risk to his own life, not because of a werewolf, but because of me (who smelled them).
Any way, the really big thing happened on Halloween of our seventh year. We were all eating breakfast when a larger than usual amount of owls came in. They landed at their destination, and I got three. One had a letter from my parents, one came from my parent's lawyer , and one was from the Ministry of Magic. A lot of other kids got a letter from the Ministry, too, and Dumbledore got at least fifty.
"What the-" I said as I looked at the letters.
Dumbledore stood up and announced quiet the moment Lily got her edition of the Daily Phrophet. "Boys and girls, " said Dumbledore. "Those of you who have gotten letters from the Ministry of Magic, you may open them now or wait for me to explain."
Most of us did. I opened the letter and read the first paragraph before it all sank in. My face went very white and I pretended not to here my friends, who were asking if I was okay. I pretended I was dead to everything but Dumbledore.
My reaction was one of the choices the others kids with M of M letters had. Some screamed. Some burst into tears. Some did both of those and run out of the great hall screaming "No! No! No!".
Dumbledore spoke. "There has been, for those who don't know, a streak of murders done to several people, by You-Know-Who, or Voldemort."
Lily just looked at me.
"For those of you who have suffered major losses, you have my support."
I began to take deep breaths.
"For those of you who have not suffered these losses, please be curteous to the ones who have." I began to seriously consider running for it.
"After these murders," said Dumbledore," people have reported seeing the Dark Mark over the houses of the victims. For those of you who don't know, the Dark Mark is Voldemort's sign. If you see a building with the Dark Mark over it, you know that someone in there just died."
That was it for me and a few other people who had "suffered major losses". I took my letters and ran out the door and into my dorm. Then I locked the door.

"Carrie, " asked Lily, later that day. "Where's Amy?"
"She locked herself in the dorm."
"Oh, dear."
Lily knocked on the door.
"Amy? It's me, Lily. Can I come in?"
I let her in.
"They're dead."
"I'm sorry."
I handed her the M of M letter, she read it outloud.
" ' Dear Miss Johnson,
We are obliged to tell you the unfortunate news of a streak of murders done by You-Know-Who and his servants. We are unhappy to inform you that Dan and Marrie Johnson are among those dead.
" 'We are very upset for your loss and hope that you can settle the legal matters.
Ministry of Magic' "
"I hate him."
"Who?"
" Voldemort."
"I don't blame you. And I know how you feel. Remember when my dad died last year?"
"Then you should know that I want to be alone."
She left and I went to sleep.

That was the worst two months of my life, or it seemed so then. I hated doing all the legal stuff. My friends were there for me.

The week before our graduation I guess was one of the most tense weeks at Hogwarts for me.
Lily woke me up on the morning of our graduation.
"Aren't you excited?"
"Yeah, yeah, I am."
"Amy, you don't sound it."
"It's just that a lot's happened this year, that's all."
"I understand. C'mon, the guys are waiting."
Down in the common room Sirius and James were standing back-to-back.
"Hey, Amy, " called James. "Who's taller?"
"Me, " I said. It was true, because I was 6' 4" then.
"Amy, come on. Is Sirius taller or shorter than me?"
"Taller. Why did you even bother to ask me that question?" (Sirius was around six feet.)
"C'mon, we gotta go graduate."
"Wait," called Lily. "We gotta take a picture!"
I grumbled but obliged. (I really don't like having my picture taken at all.)
Lily handed the camera to Carrie, who was just passing by, and then made a big deal of arranging us.
"Sirius and Amy toghether, I think. I don't know..."
"Let's just go with this," said Remus.
"Fine."
Lily stood next to James. After saying "Cheese!" (why do you have to say that?) and being blinded, we were ready to graduate.

I got a nice little house and worked at a Muggle bank as well as doing some reaserch for Greengott's.
Me and Sirius got married in the fall after graduation, which was a surprise because James and Lily decided to wait. ("I always though I'd get married first!" was Lily's reaction to her invitation.)

Then, a year after we graduated,my and Sirius had a baby girl, whom we named Elizabeth. She seemed to be your average witch baby, until me and Lily knew better.
Oh, Amy, you are so lucky!"
"I suppose that you're right, but I'm just tired."
I sat down next to her a the table. "Don't worry, you just gave birth two days ago. But she seems very quiet."
"She is, and that's what worries me."
"Hungry, " said a voice from the bassinet where Lizzie was.
I nearly dropped the bottle and my mouth dropped open. Lily gaped and made a very strange noise.
"Lily, " I said after I had found my voice. "Did Lizzie just. ."
"Just. . ."
"Talk, " said the bassinet. "I'm hungry and I'm not going to wail my lungs out."
"Lizzie, " I said, walking over to the bassinet after giving Lily the bottle to hold, "You can talk at three days?"
"I could talk at one and a half hours, but I decided not to."
"Lizzie, " I said, picking her up. "Can you do numbers too?"
"You mean putting them together to make a different one?"
"Addition, " said Lily.
"Addition, " repeated Lizzie. "No."
"Lily, " I said, "what are we gonna do?"
"We tell James and Sirius, and not Peter, since you'd want that. But stop worrying, you just have an unusally smart kid."
"Tonight?We tell them tonight?"
"Tonight."

"What do you want, Amy, " asked James.
"Well, it's about Lizzie."
"What about Lizzie? She's not sick, is she?"
"You explain, " said Lily, "I'll go get her."
I explained about Lizzie.
"When was she born, again?" asked Sirius.
"June seventh, 1980."
"And now it's June ninth, and she can talk."
"Yes."
"You're loosing it, " said Sirius.
"Here she is, " said Lily, brining in Lizzie.
"Here, give her to me, " I said.
"She can't talk, Amy, " said Sirius. "That's not possible."
"Says who, " said Lizzie.
It took a while to get Sirius and James back to normal.

Lizzie continued to learn rapidly. By the time she was one she could do long division and was reading books at eighth grade reading level. She had gotten down some basic spells and (with the use of my wand) somehow managed to turn my shoes into bars of soap (and got away with it). By the age of three she had read the encyclopedia.
When she was three Lily and James got married. I was the Maid of Honor. Lizzie was the flower girl. She was also told to act like one. (A three-year-old.)

When she was five, Harry was born.
"Isn't he adorable?" was all Lily said for a while.
"He's a wizard, and he has glasses and a scar, " said Lizzie, looking at Harry critically. One more thing about Lizzie, she has the Sight, and a lot more than me.
"Oh, does he, " said Sirius.
"Yes, and he will look just like James, but he will have Lily's eyes, " she said. She never called Lily, James, or Remus (when he was there) Mr. or Mrs.
She called Peter "Rat" behind his back.
"Oh, " continued Lizzie, "Peter, it was a guy, you owe me three knuts."
Lizzie used her powers to her advantage. Peter paid up.
"Okay, " said James. "Why don't you go read a while, Lizzie."
"No thanks, I'll sleep."
She woke up screaming an hour later.
"Lizzie! What's wrong?"
"Nothing there. Death, " she said.
"Lizzie!"
"What happened?"

Of course, she was right.

"Sirius, please. Don't use Peter. Go into hiding or something yourself, but don't use Peter."
"Amy, Peter is much better. Trust me." He left.
"I trust you," I said. "It's Peter I don't."
Voldemort was after the Potter's. Sirius was giving up the seacret-keeper job.
I went to pack Lizzie's things."
At eleven Lizzie came and woke me up.
"Mommy," she said. "Daddy isn't home yet. And I sense danger."
"Lizzie, get your suitcase. We need to go to Godric's Hollow, even if it is too late."
We found Sirius arguing with Hagrid, and Hagrid won. Sirius gave Hagrid his motorcycle.
"Sirius!" I called once Hagrid had left.
"Amy, they're dead. Pettigrew did it. I wish you had been here, you would have told me not to use him, you never liked him."
I began to walk across the rubble and found an old necklace of Lily's, one that I bought her. I picked it up and put it in my pocket.
"It's not your fault, Sirius. Don't blame yourself."
"I'm blaming Wormtail. And I'm gonna kill him."
"Sirius, don't! You'll get put in Azkaban for certain, " I said, as I chased him over the ruins of my best friends house. I didn't realize that I was crying.
He turned around and looked at me.
"Amy, " he said. "I don't care. I'm going."
He left, and there was nothing that I could do to stop him. But Lizzie could.
"Daddy, wait."
He stopped and turned around. He stared at her and then looked at me.
"She needs to find a safer home," I said. "I'm looking for Peter. You take care of her."
Then I left before he could do anything.

When I found Peter, he was in a state.
"Nervous, are we?"
"Amy!"
"Peter, you killed two of my best friends." I drew my wand. "I don't forgive easily."
He pulled out his wand. "Ah, well, don't underestimate me."
We dueled. He managed to knck the wand from my hand and before I could get to it-----
"AVADA KEDAVRA!!!!"
I fell and knew I wouldn't get up for eternity. My last thoughts were of Sirius and Lizzie, and how it would be a long time before we would be together as a family again. But I could wait. And so I would, no matter how long it took. I loved them, and we would find each other someday.
We would just have to wait until that someday came.
What else could we do? We would be toghether again, someday.

The End

After note: I am writing a story about Lizzie right now, and it will tell you more of what happens Sirius and Harry and everyone else, if you're interested. So if it isn't posted and you are interested, it will come. Oh, yeah, I know that this wasn't as good as the beginning, alright? Don't hurt me!!!!!!!! PLEASE, don't hurt me!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry, but... well... that's the way things are and Amy's dead! So sue me (Figure of speach! Don't!) *coughs* Ah, yes, well, things to do, so off with me. (Please reveiw. Yes, I AM obsessed!)
