T.K.
couldn't believe it. How could she? "I mean; it is Valentine's Day!" He
thought T.K. had invited Kari over to his house for a special dinner that he
had set up. And she had stood him up.
The invitation
had said eight o'clock. It was now ten thirty. T.K. sighed and was about to
blow out a candle when there was a faint knocking at the door. He rushed
towards it, hoping that it was Kari. He peeked out through the window, but no
one was there.
Slowly, he
opened the door, making sure that the chain was still attached, when he saw a
large, thin package lying in front of the door. T.K. stuck his out to look in
the hallway, but there was no one in sight. Cautiously, he picked up the
package and brought it inside. Thankfully, his mom wouldn't be home until the
next day, or he would have gotten in a lot of trouble for opening the door late
at night. He's only fourteen you know.
Flicking on
the light switch, T.K. read the note that was attached,
Dear T.K.
I'm sorry I couldn't make it. My mother
wouldn't let me go out so late, or call you. Tai, uh, kinda blabbed about our
date and my mom freaked. Can you believe that she hasn't realized that we're
together?? Sometimes parents cane be so slow!
Well, I asked Tai to drop of my present
to you; I wanted you to see it tonight. Um, so I guess I'll see you tomorrow.
I love you
~Kari
T.K. smiled
happily as he folded up the note and stuck it in his pocket. "Now let's see
what this is…" He whispered. Carefully he took off the tape and slid the gift
out of its wrapping.
"Oh wow…"
He whispered. In a golden framed was a blown up photo of himself taking the
final shot of the conference finals. The shot that secured the victory. T.K.
felt his heart race as he carefully gazed at every detail and admired the
photo. He flipped it over and inscribed on the back was,
Photo Taken By: Hikari Kamiya
Date: January 26th
Message: T.K., I hope you like the
picture. When I developed this roll, I couldn't believe I took such a great
shot, I had to share it with you. I hope you enjoy it, I know I do (I have a
copy for myself!)
Love, Kari
T.K. smiled
he read Kari's message. The boy yawned, stretched his arms and blinked his eyes
a couple of times. He should be getting to sleep. There was school tomorrow and
he had a Math test first period. T.K. stood up, picture still in hand, and
walked straight across from his bed to his bookshelf. There, he cleared a spot
and placed the picture delicately down. "Even though it's a picture of myself,"
he thought, "Every time I look at it, I'll think of my love, Kari."
Well?? Hope you
enjoyed it! Please review!!
Until then…
