A Death in the Family

Kurt stood outside the door of Kitty's room and hears soft teardrops.All he knew was that

she had gotten bad news from home and has spent most of the afternoon in tears.He

decides to take the risk and ports into the room.Kitty looks up as Kurt sees her bloodshot

red eyes gaze up at him,"What happened?" he finally asks her."My dad died,just found out

and I can't go home for the service" Kitty tells Kurt as fresh tears start to trickle down her

cheek.Kurt sits by Kitty on the bed and slips his arm around her."Let it out,I'm here" was

all he could say as Kitty cried on his shoulder."I just feel more alone and it hurts too

much" Kitty got out as tears kept falling.All Kurt could do was hold her and open his

heart to her as he whispered in her ear,"Just cry,you're not alone.People do care and I

care".Kitty sunk into the hug and finally whispered in Kurt's ear,"I know fuzzy,I know

and it does help to know that you care" as her tears became quiet sobs.A note was slipped

under the door and Kurt put it on Kitty's desk for her to read later.The note was from

Jean,Evan,Scott,Bobby,and Rogue and it was to let Kitty know that if she needed to talk

to come bang on the door."Kurt,thank you.I needed to get this out" Kitty finally said as

Kurt hugged her."That's what friends are for and I do care" he whispered as she returned

the hug
