Disclaimer; Look, just skip it, If I owned 'The Road to Elderado' and all that comes with it, I would Own Dream Works, seeing as they MADE 'The Road to Elderado'. If I Owned Dream Works do you honestly think I'D be writing fanfiction? No, I'd throw the idea to my writers, have them write up a script then get it made into a short cartoon or part of the movie? Was this part of the movie? No. Was this a short carton made by dreamworks? Not to my knowledge. So there for I logically cannot OWN 'Road To Elderado'. Thank you and good night. Now, read the damn fic.

Just For A Moment

He saw the pillar was falling to quickly. Tulio at first thought they wouldn't make it to the gates. He thought that the people at the pillar wouldn't be able to hold on, the ropes would snap, the pillar would fall and the pillar would crush them. But then, Miguel had jumped from a ledge and caught the sail and pulled it down. The sail had caught the wind and brought them to momentary safety.

"Get off the ship, or you'll never see the city again!" Tulio yelled at Miguel. "I know," Replied Miguel who was in the process of taking off his golden earrings, "You don't think I'm going to let you have all the fun, do you?"

Tulio Smiled as Miguel grabbed a paddle and began to row towards the gate. But before they began to row away, for one brief shining moment, in the time somewhere between when Miguel said he'd stay, and when he began to help them row back to the gate, Everything was perfect. In the Worlds of all those in the boat, everything had fallen into place. Tulio was back with is partner… his friend Miguel who seemed to have forgiven him for whatever it was he was angry with him over. He had the mountain of gold he had always desired and he had Chel, the woman he loved. Chel was finally getting out of Elderado, and she had Tulio, with whom she shared equal affection for…. Not to mention she was as rich as the rest of those she kept company with. Miguel was a partner again with Tulio. He had forgiven any bad blood that has come between them. He too had riches, but more importantly, like Tulio he had something he had always craved… an adventure. Even Eltivo had what he wanted. He had a master who really cared about him, and he wouldn't have to live under Cortez again. The people of Elderado were safe, safe from Cortez, and safe from Zecklecon. Everything in the worlds of Miguel, Tulio, Chel, and even Eltivo was perfect.

Moments like that are very rare to come by in the lives of us. Moments where we have everything we could possibly want, everything we need and everything fits into place like a jigsaw puzzle. But moments such as this never last. The plan to save Elderado Cortez would come with a heavy price, it would cost them the mountain of riches they had won. Tulio would loose what he had always wanted. But he had something even more precious. He had his love for Chel and her love for him. In that way he was richer than her had ever been before. So in it's own, small way, the perfection had been preserved. None of them had really lost their riches. Miguel had his adventure which was worth more to him than all the gold in the world, Tulio had Chel and Chel had him as well as her freedom, and Eltivo was free from Cortez. In that small, almost unnoticeable way, the perfection of the moment was preserved.

For a Moment, just a single moment life could not get better for our heroes. Life was perfect. The world was perfect. That is the rarest thing now in our world. A moment of absolute perfection. And that is what the saviors of Elderado, Miguel, Tulio, Chel and even to some extent Eltivo had. And it was worth more than all the gold ever to come into existence. Just for a Moment…
