( A Blair Witch Fiction)

The tools hammered and slammed down on the heavy rocks under the mid-day sun. A man in his early 30's, muscular build, with sweat drenched brown hair clinging to his forehead, was furiously hitting the Earth with his jackhammer. Suddenly, he hit something metallic.

"Hey Roy, come here, I hit somethin", he yelled to another man behind him.

"Ok, hold yer horses" said a white-haired man with a thick Southern accent.

"What is it Roy?" he said as he came over to the area where the man was.

Roy bent down and picked up a small, dirty container, submerged in pieces of rock. Wiping it off, in big black letters, scrawled over the front, it simply said "ROSITA JAWELLS SESSION."

"What's that?"

"I dunno, open it and see."

Inside was just a video cassette.

"What used to be here Roy?"

"A mental asylum"

"Wasn't that in the news? A girl and her doctor got killed, right?"

"Yeah, they never found the killer either."

"What if the murder's on this tape?"
They both stared at it in silence

"There's a V.C.R. in the bosses trailer" Glen said slowly.

"I dunno Glen, should we be messin with this kind of stuff?"

"Look, if anything bad starts to happen, we'll just turn it off and give it to the police, ok?"

"I guess...but maybe we're messing with things that's beyond our knowledge."

"Come on Roy, don't tell me you believe in that ghost nonsense."

"It could be true..."

"The girl was crazy! She killed a little boy and said a ghost did it. She was locked up in the asylum for the rest of her life."

Roy sighed, knowing he was defeated.

"Come on, we'll take our break now"

They made their way across the construction site to the trailer.

Inside, they turned of all the lights and out the tape in.

Glen shakily hit the PLAY button.

(Tape begins)

A man in his late 40's appears. His hairline was receding, and what was left of it was slicked back. His gray suit blended in perfectly with the background of the room.

"Today we are going to talk to Rosita Jawells"

A tall, thin girl with long red hair entered the room. She was wearing a long pastel pink dress that drug on the floor and black boots.

"Please have a seat"

She hesitantly glanced at the man, then sat down on the other end of a glass table.

"So let 's begin. When did you start hearing this so-called ghost?"

"She's real!" the girl aid forcefully.

"It's a she?" he said, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Well sometimes I see a mass of black hair so I assume it's a girl. But most of the time I feel and see her."

"Feel her?"

"I feel her presence with me, she whispers things to me."

"What does she say?"
"She tells me who's on her bad list"

"Her bad list?'

"The people she's going to kill."

"Why does she kill them?"

"They were bad"

The girls eyes get wide. She starts shaking and staring at something out of view of the camera.

"What is it?" he asked in a frantic voice.

"She's here!"

The scared girl jumped from her seat and started to pound on the metal door. When she saw it was useless, with tears streaming down her cheeks, she slid down to the floor and rocked back and forth in the fetal position.

"WHAT IS THAT?!"

"OH MY GOD, MAKE IT GO AWAY!!" came the man's frantic voice a little ways out of the camera's reach.

"HELP, IT'S GONNA KILL----"

(tape ends)

Roy and Glen just stared at the static that now filled the TV screen, not believing what they ha just saw.

"What---"

Shh!... did you hear that?"

Roy could see his terrified outlined by the glow of the TV.

Small cackling laughter came from somewhere in the room. Both men got up and tried to pull the door open, but it was locked.

Wide-eyed, they grabbed each other and backed into a small corner of the room., the laughter started to get louder.

Hours later, a fellow employee walked in and found the two dead bodies and a tape steadily burning in the fire.
