Chapter 1
As I walked down the long corridor, I wondered why the king would want to see me. Then I thought of how long I've been in Gaia, not too long, only 2 weeks. It couldn't be something I did, I hardly talked to anyone, besides, I couldn't start a fight I didn't know how to fight at all! I stopped. In front of me was a door made out of metal. The two doorknobs were shaped like dog heads, and were made of chrome, they looked kind of spooky. I reached out to turn the handle, but before I could even touch it, it opened.
Ah! Maeko, I've been meaning to talk to you. Have a seat.
I sat down on a triangular shaped chair, whose back rose to what seemed like fifty feet.
Now, I needed to ask you something, you say you've been to the Mystic Moon, is that right?
All the bones in my body began to rattle I knew what he was getting at, but I couldn't bear to tell him.
Yes, Lord Van, I have. In fact I lived there.
So I hear. You knew Hitomi didn't you?
Sweat began to trickle down the sides of my face, my hands began to sweat. I bit my lip and looked towards the floor and out the window, then eventually back at Van.
Yes.... I did.
Tell me, how is she?
I looked him in the eyes; I sensed his anticipation that was being covered by his strong will of being a man. I didn't want to tell him so soon, so I looked out the window, then glanced back at Van thinking, he doesn't know how fast time moves on earth than it does here, to him she's still fifteen years old. I looked back at him; I knew I had to tell him.
