Why
It's a quiet night. The whole gang is exhausted because they had to climb up a steep cliff with nothing but six pieces of rope and a miracal. It's fairly late and everyone is sleeping like logs except for Trigger and Mocchi who got free rides. Trigger starts to wake up and manages to not wake up Tiger, despite the fact that Trigger was asleep right under his head. Trigger stretches, gives a small yawn and walks to the lake. He takes a small drink a goes back to sleep. The next morning, Tiger wakes up first. He tries to wake up Trigger but he doesn't even move!
Tiger: "Come on. Time to wake up."
Still, nothing.
Tiger: "(worriedly)Come on."
Again, nothing. Tiger puts his head to Triggers chest and senses a heartbeat. Tiger rushes over to the sleeping Holly's side and gently wakes her up.
Tiger: "I think something's wrong with Trigger."
Holly get's up quickly.
Holly: "What do you mean."
Tiger: "He won't wake up."
They both go to Trigger. Holly tries to wake him up but alas, she fails too.
Holly: "We should take him to a hospital."
Tiger: "Yeah but...I'd like it to be just you and me though. I'd be embarassed if anyone else was with us."
Holly: "Okay. I'll leave a note."
After writing a note Holly takes her blanket and wraps Trigger in it.
Tiger: "We'll get there faster if you ride on me."
Holly: "Okay."
Holly gets on Tiger and they both zoom off with Holly having to hold on to Tiger and the small bundle witch was Trigger.
After they leave, Genki wakes up with a note on his face.
Genki: "Yyyyaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn. Huh?"
He takes the note off his face and reads it.
Genki: "(reading)Genki. We have left because of an emergency. I can not tell what it is, but Tiger and Trigger are with me. Please do not look for us. Holly(stops reading). Where could they be?"
Back at the hospital Tiger and Holly are waiting for the nurse in the waiting room. After a few minutes which seems like hours to Tiger, a nurse walks in.
Holly: "Is he okay?"
Nurse: "Well, its' hard to say. He has a rare sickness and has a small chance of recovering. If he can make it through the night then that means the disease is gone. Would you like to see him?"
Tiger: "Yes."
The nurse moves to let them get by. Tiger and Holly walk in to find Trigger on a bed. Holly rubs his head gently.
Holly: "I hope he get's better."
Tiger: "I'd like to be alone for a while."
Holly: "Okay Tiger."
Holly walks out of the room and there is a long pause.
Tiger: "(holding back tears)I know you can't hear me but please get better. Its' like I'm cursed to loose everyone I love! I can't take this anymore!"
Tears start gently flowing down his face.
Tiger: "I can't live without you. Why am I doomed to lead this life of loss!"
Tiger stays the whole day when he finally goes to sleep right by Trigger. Holly had come back earlier so she is with them. The next morning Trigger starts to wake up also waking up Tiger!
Tiger: "Huh......Holly!"
Holly: "(yyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnn)What?"
Tiger: "Trigger survived!"
Holly: "That's great!"
Holly picks up Trigger as they head out of the hospital.
Tiger: "I guess I'm not cursed, but I sure thought so for a minute"
