"Following Me" is by Steeleye Span, and I would highly recommend listening to it. I don't own Kel or Joren. THey belong to Tamora Pierce.
Enjoy.

Following Me
*Somebody's following, following me
Somebody's following, following me*
Kel ran indefinitely. To where, she was not sure, but it was away. Away from him, from his obsessions, his skulking about, his very presence in her world. She did not want him or his affections, but he insisted on following her.
*Look in his eyes, this man, he'll tell you nothing
You'll have to do what he says if you
Look in his eyes, this man, it's no use running
I know I mustn't look back at him*
Joren pursued his dove, loving her playfulness. Surely soon now she would come to him. Soon she would end her little game of hard-to-catch and come to him. She had to. He loved her, couldn't she see that?
*(Somebody's following, following me)
I feel a chill that runs straight to the bone
(Somebody's following, following me)
I've never felt so alone
And I know that I'm not mistaken
(There's been other young girls he's taken)*
Where were her friends when she needed them? He was just behind her, his hot breath tickling the back of her neck. She shivered. Somewhere, in the back, treacherous, corners of her mind, a small voice whispered 'Why do you run?'. And that was what scared her the most.
*If I happen to take just one look in his eyes
He will turn me to ice, oh why can't I run away
Something is stopping me running away*
She knew if she ever looked back, she'd be dead. His eyes -his blue, blue eyes... why did she think of this?- they would hold her. His eyes would never let her go.
*Look in his eyes, this man, you'd never know it
He'll own your body and soul if you
Look in his eyes, this man, I mustn't show it
I mustn't show that I'm scared of him*
Joren all but leapt with joy. She was slowing! His lovely was slowing. Not much longer now until she was finally, finally, finally his. His to hold, to love, to touch. He smiled.
*(Somebody's following, following me)
I feel his breath on the back of my hair
(Somebody's following, following me)
And there's fear in the air
And I know that I'm not mistaken
(There's been other young girls he's taken)*
Almost against her will, she stopped running, stopped her now meaningless movement. She slowly turned and looked him in his brilliant blue eyes. She lost herself in his gaze. And she liked it.
*If I happen to take just one look in his eyes
He will turn me to ice, oh why can't I run away
What is it stopping me running away?*
Kel woke up, slightly damp and sweating. Remembering her dream, she got up and went looking for Joren. She needed to talk to him, to explain. He still scared her, hanging around her all the time, but maybe... just maybe... they could learn to love each other. She hoped so.
Enjoy.
