A Creature Blacker than Night
by Cyllya
Heed the words I say,
And what the darkness will prescribe,
Do not anger the creature,
Which no words can describe.
I saw it only once in the wild,
On a cliff aside the moon,
I only saw a second,
I fear it left too soon.
Against the bright full moon,
I saw its blackened hide,
Its eyes so large and scary,
The gold rings at its side.
With fur of a black that scares off the light,
Soft and dark, so much darker than night.
Long ears and a flowing dark tail,
That follows behind like a demon's trail.
Its lovely black fur,
Is halted by rings,
Of a shiny bright gold,
That is envied by kings.
And its eyes, oh, its eyes!
Somehow cold yet is warm,
Big, almond-shaped, and a bright blood-red,
They are full of life and tell of the dead.
I would go find it to see it again,
But the dark cliff was too rocky,
So Eevee and I will look to the moon,
For nothing, anywhere, matches Burakki.
