Disclaimer: The Sorting Hat and all the houses belong to J. K. Rowling. I own everything else! Mwahaha!
Second Thoughts
Years come and years go
Summer sun and winter snow
In one ear and out the other
I cannot see why I even bother
Couldn't another do the same?
Why put me through all this pain?
I boast and brag and sing with joy
But no one knows, except the boy
He figured out I do have fear
Found that, yes, mistakes are near
Four houses should be an easy task
I hide my doubt behind a mask
Of dust and grime and empty rubble
Why do I spend the trouble?
Twenty five percent have I
Make a right choice, or die
My powers weak, my insight gray
Pass on the torch I soon may
Hufflepuff I send who idiocy diminished
But then, some do come out quite finnished
To Ravenclaw go the nerds
Although most aren't even bookworms
Slytherian always takes a evil one
But hey, nice ones always start the fun
Tiredly I send the rest
To Gryffindor, supposedly the best
Who, me? What to do?
Where to put them, I haven't a clue
The best! they boast
As of now, my life's toast
Withered and dull, upon a stool
I have been quite a fool
Oh, what's this? Another year?
Another round of boos and jeers?
They dare not speak aloud, on no
But I see all think I don't know
I stand up straight and sing a song
And wait to be proven wrong
Here comes a head, oh wait, what's this?
Could there possibly be something amis?
I know the answer to this brave soul!
Off to Gryffindor, he must go!
And she, of course! With cleverness and wit!
Ravenclaw's surely a fit!
And Slytherian! And Hufflepuff!
Why, this is easy stuff!
And then, in the crowd, I see the boy
Among his friends, he isn't coy
Did I choose right? Of course I did!
For I am quite a very smart lid!
Maybe I'll last another year
Perhaps there aren't any jeers
It's okay girls and men
The Sorting Hat is back again!
A/N: See that pretty box below? It's calling to you. Telling you to fill it out. Mmhmm. Obey the box. You know you want to..
