Disclaimer: I do not own CCS or any of its characters, CLAMP and Nelvana (cough *crap* cough) do. Note: Almost everything I know about CCS is from the dub, so bear with me if I've mixed some stuff up, or if I'm just avoiding things.
Part 1
"A Chilling
Melody"
A stranger stood outside the
Li family home. Syaoron was aware of
this, the Lazen Board had told him someone was coming. Someone dangerous, and powerful. The stranger was wearing "Matrix"
style clothes, complete with trench coat and sunglasses. As the clock in Syaoron's room struck noon,
the stranger took a flute out of his pocket and began to play. It was a haunting, chilling melody, which
awakened a desire in Syaoron to fight.
He put on his Card Captor
outfit and took up his sword and Clow Cards. He jumped out the window and stood in front of the stranger, who was
still playing his flute. He finished
playing and put it away. "Did you
enjoy my song, Li?" The strangers
voice was like ice, yet to anyone but Syaoron, it would sound like a star's
voice. The stranger spoke again. "The song I was playing, was one I
wrote. It is a requiem for the end of
an era. The end of you, and
Kinomoto."
Syaoron's eyes flashed, but
he kept silent. What did this stranger
want with him and Sakura? His grip on
his sword tightened as he spoke to the stranger through gritted teeth. "What do you want?"
The stranger held out his
hand. "What is mine by right. The Clow, and all the contents thereof. Starting with your cards. Now, you pale,
pathetic imitation of me."
"What do you mean,
'imitation'?"
The stranger removed his
sunglasses, revealing silver eyes, and an arrogance that Syaoron had seen in
himself many times. "Ahh, as
headstrong as anyone in your family's history. What I mean, boy, is that you
and your family are not the only descendants of Clow Reed." He
smiled. "Allow me to introduce
myself, Li. My name, is Kamui Reed. Now, give me what is mine, or suffer the
consequences. Either way, I
win." Kamui smiled.
"We'll see about that,
whoever you really are." Syaoron drew his sword. "Force, know my plight; release the
light! Now, element: Fire!" A
blast of flame shot towards Kamui.
Kamui did not even flinch,
he merely drew out a card, the size of the Clow Cards, but instead of any
markings, it was merely black on one side, and white on the other. "Water." The Water burst forth from the card, extinguishing the flame and
nearly smashing into Syaoron, who dodged at the last second.
"The Water Card? Impossible!" How could this be? Sakura
had sealed that long ago. How could
this Kamui Reed have it?
"All things are
possible. As you would well learn,
boy." He poised himself for
another attack.
Syaoron drew the Dash Card,
and plunged his sword into it. "DASH! Give me
speed!" As he received the Dash
Card's power, Syaoron whirled around Kamui, looking for an opening.
"Fast. But what on Earth can outrun lightning? Thunder." The Thunder burst forth from the strange card, striking Syaoron,
and hurling him against a wall.
'How is this happening? What kind of magic is this?' Syaoron coughed up blood, as he watched
helplessly as Kamui put the card away and walked towards him. Kamui reached for him…
"The kind that your
family forgot a long time ago. Now to
claim--" Kamui stopped and smiled. "No. I'll give you a second
chance to lose with some dignity. In
five days, I will find you, wherever you are. I will take the cards then." He put his sunglasses back on and started to walk away. "By the way Li, I highly suggest that
you convince Kinomoto to give the Clow to me. I will have it no matter what; and I have no qualms about dealing with
her the same way as I did you. Good
afternoon to you Li." He pulled
his flute from his pocket and began playing the "requiem" as he
walked away.
"S-Sakura…" That
was the last thing Syaoron managed to force out before falling into sleep.
