Dear Dad

My dear father,
I love you dearly
Though I missed you
Very nearly

Luckily, mother
Made a machine of time
To make sure your
Life coincided with mine

You treated me harshly
The first time I saw you
It hurt me so much
Not to say, "I love you."

Away from you
I could not stay long
So I returned;
This I write in my song.

I felt we
Should not train apart,
So when you
Said this, it broke my heart:

"You aren't my son!
I don't love you.
I don't need help
From the likes of you!"

So help you I
Didn't; watch you I did.
The thought, "He loves
You" screamed through my id.

Even though your ego
Overpowered your id,
I saw, deep down,
That love me you did.

Now I end this poem
This verse is the last one.
Sincerely, with love,
Trunks (your son)
