She Misses Him
Lyrics Written by Tim Johnson

Sora woke up and helped Tai up. They were both aged now, and Tai had brain cancer.
He couldn't do much on his own now.
She shaves his face
She combs his hair
She helps him find
His rocking chair
She cooks his meal
She wipes his mouth
And the window that
He's looking out
This was routine everyday. Once Tai was seated, Sora always fed him breakfast. It was
surprising how she always did it everyday. But she never complained. She just
remembered how much she loved this man.
She reads him books
She speaks his name
Oh everyday is much the same
She sighs that sigh
From deep within
The one that says
She misses him
Sora remembered when they were children and Tai was the leader. He always made her
smile. When they were in high school, he would always watch her play tennis and wait
for her after practice. She remembered when they first kissed each other. It was on the
way to her house and they were at the stairs to her home. They were saying goodbye, and
when she was about to go in, he grabbed her arm and pulled her to him. He brushed her
lips with his gently and she returned the kiss. He then left for home.
She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him
His children come on Saturday
There at his feet his grandkids play
It's sad they don't know him at all
He's just the one they call grandpa
They take out his trash
They mow his lawn
Things he can't do
Since he's been gone
She's grateful that
They're pitching in
And like everyone else
She misses him
She held his hand against her cheek and felt the touch of her love. It was one of the only
things she had left to remember him by. She also had the photo album. She went to pick
it up and they looked at it together. She would take his hand and put it on the picture she
was telling him about. That album was one of her only ways of seeing the old Tai, the
Tai who had stolen her heart those many years ago.
She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him
Every once in a while she would help Tai up and they would dance. She held him close
to her as they moved. And sometimes, he would try to pull her closer just so she would
know he was trying to reach her from where he was.
And Yes, they're still together
After all these years
But sometimes you can almost feel
the sadness in her tears
When he did pull her close, she would always cry. And she would imagine him wiping
away those tears she wept. She knew he was there, somewhere, missing her too.
She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him
Okay, I cried when I wrote this. It might not have made you cry, but that's cool. Please
email me what you think so I can know whether to trash it or not. Flames are welcome,
and so are compliments (compliments mainly).
