Not The Best Idea Ever

In her back yard Vanessa Cleveland and her best friend Catty
were playing in the bright Sunday sun. Vanessa smiled, today was the
day. A few weeks ago Catty had taken her into this weird tunnel
and back in time during her 9th birthday party to get an extra piece
of cake. Vanessa had been terrified, and she hadn't even gotten to
eat her piece of cake! She had gotten into lots of trouble when her
mother had come to pick her up and found her just walking back to
Catty's house. Catty had missed and dropped them 5 blocks away!!!
She smiled a grin that the cat from Alice in Wonderland
would've been proud of. When Catty wasn't looking she ran up and
hugged her. She closed her eyes and concentrated. After a few
seconds she felt her molecules begin to float apart. She opened her
eyes and saw a very dusty looking Catty with an astonished look on
her face. I'm doing it! She thought. I'm really doing it! After
another minute both girls were completely invisible.
Vanessa felt Catty breeze by and around the yard. They began
a game of tag and played for what seemed like forever. Finally Catty
told her that she was getting cold. "Can we be solid now?" She
asked. Vanessa began to concentrate and tried to pull their
molecules together, but it didn't do anything. She tried again, and
again, and again, but couldn't seem to do it! Finally she started to
get a few body parts together. She was relived, but Catty lifted her
hand up to brush a piece of non-existent hair off of her cheek and
noticed that se had no arm. She instantly burst into tears. Vanessa
began to panic, which threw her off.
Finally after 3 whole hours she had herself and Catty almost
completely back together. It only took a few more minuets for her
to finish. Catty went home immediately afterward in tears. Vanessa
went up to her room and picked up her teddy bear. Even with all of
the practice on him she had had problems bringing the molecules back
together. She screwed up her face and thought for a few seconds
before she heard her mother calling her down to dinner. She shrugged
and merrily skipped down stairs to eat, not even noticing that there
was no moon that night...
