I really don't mind being alone, you know.
I mean, you don't have to worry about someone else. You don't need to concern yourself
with someone else's well being, and you're free from that feeling that someone's
watching your every move, studying you. Being alone means you can do whatever
*you* want to do. You don't have to concern yourself with what he wants, his needs.
There are five of us. An uneven number. Someone had to be singled out. Lucky me.
Heero has Duo always around, always pestering him. See? No one pesters me. Well,
okay, Duo pesters me too, but he pesters everyone. And he always goes back to Heero.
Quatre and Trowa? It's almost sickening the way they look at each other… or at least,
the way Quatre looks at Trowa. The love shining in those turquoise eyes is painfully
obvious to anyone not blind or stupid.
Besides, when you're alone, you can fully concentrate on whatever you want to do.
Exercises, meditation… some things are better when done by one instead of two. No
distractions. None whatsoever.
I'm supposed to be alone! Chang "Solitary Dragon" Wufei, right? They tried to pair me
off, but you know what happened to that. She died. And, to put the icing on this nice
little cake of my life, my colony's blown to high Heaven and the seventh level of Hell!
I'm supposed to be alone, fighting for honor and justice and goodness and sweetness and
niceness. Can't have that in my own life, so I get to make sure everyone else can live
happily ever after.
So, you see? I don't mind being by myself all the time. I'm fine when I'm alone. Don't
need anybody looking out for me. I'm used to loneliness.
