Noli Lacrimare

Everything I do nowadays is HP-related. So, here's a poem. Although it's up to interpretation, this is Harry Potter we're talking about. As far as my Latin knowledge goes, noli lacrimare means "don't cry." Noli actually means "be unwilling to," but it is also translated as "don't" in my textbook. Technically then, the title would mean "be unwilling to cry" (as the word is lacrimare, to weep), but it means the same both way. Things always sound nicer in other languages. I've only taken Latin for one term so far, cut me some slack ;) Review if you read it, no one reviews anything I do! Hehe, ciao!

Noli Lacrimare

Child of mine, I see your tears.
It splits my soul in two.
If I free you of all your fears
My life's purpose is through.

I won't be near you while you grow,
Or by you when you cry,
Remember, I'm above you though;
You'll hear me if you try.

I'll whisper to you while you sleep
And let you know I'm here.
All dangers then are buried deep:
There's nothing more to fear.
