"well, at least you got it Sirius." said james, sighing heavily "i don't know what you'ld do with out me!," he grinned, while chucking the charred object into a near by garbage bin.
"James, so long as you dont have to eat her cooking, tonight'll be the best night ever for you!" Peter squealed.
"Besides," spoke Remus, "we'll all be waiting close by with the invisibility cloak for if anything goes wrong, got it?"
"It's time i started getting ready."
"You do have every thing you need, eh james? I mean you wouldn't want to forget the key ingredient, would you?"
"Sirius! you do have it !?! ... don't you?" james questioned irritabley.
"Of course prongs ole pal, its erm, somewhere around here...". He began shuffling through his robes, searching for the item he was looking for.
"Sirius! No! You didn't!" squealed james.
"Oh, sirius!" moaned mooney
"PADFOOT! That.... that ... that... thing is the whole point of tonight!"
"heh-heh", he smiled cheaply while scrunching his forhead. "Oh! I remember now! I gave to to our pal wormy, to bring to the shop to be cleaned. Not to worry, james! Your clumsy freind peter here happened to have dropped his pasty cream on top of it yesterday while, i was polishing it...and um, well," and james face had turned to turn a sickly color, "um, peter, why dont you finish for me!"
"ME!...um, heh-heh, i gave it in yesterday! I couldn't get it, i told remus to get it!"
"i don't have it prongs! i was busy too, sirius said he'ld get it!"
"SIR-E-US!"
"Hey! I remember now!...uh, heh-heh, i put it in my inside pocket! Sorry 'bought that, guys" and he pulled out a small velvet box. With that, james snatched the box as both mooney and wormtail slapped their foreheads.
"Sirius," complained remus, putting his hands inside his pockets, "I expect this of peter, but not you."
"Sorry 'bout that..." But it's not like i lost it, it was just misplaced!"
and they all sighed at him...
