Paladins lived a strict and holy path, often leading them into seclusive forms of living. Lenemo however, faltered in his concentration during
his trainings to fulfill his soul's calling. He had been witness
to a numerous slayings of both demon and man. Maybe it was the
stench of the air, the sight of severed limbs, or just the way splattered
blood drenches steel. Either way, he had always trembled and lost
control of his feet whenever faced w/ a battle. Worst of all, he hated the seclusion of the trainings.
He saw many other Paladins before him draw great strength through their faith. And their faith gave them great powers: a seemingly unending
flow of life, great hammers from the heavens crushing everything within circumference. He had many times tried his hand at it but horribly
failed everytime, w/ nothing to show for skills except for a little sucess
in charging, although very wreckless.
It seemed that he had been content hidding away his life in this rogue encampment that he had been brought up in. His golden chain mail hiding his fears; The same mail that was handed down to him by his father after his father was found half eaten in the cathedral. It seemed however, today was a little different. The encampment seems somewhat eerie. News then
flew around that deckard cain had gone east, following some great
warriors that needed his knowledge.
It was then that the flight of arrows piercing the air was felt. Screams
and howls of various pitches could be heard. Lenemo trembled as he held his two handed sword shakingly. The rogues were now in strategic locations in the camp, trying to slow down the onslaught. Akara was now standing next to Charsi asking how this could be... Suddenly, the great wooden walls fell right behind them, and parts of a rogue hit them violently across the face.
There stood in the middle of the encampment a huge ape-like beast that stood at least 15ft, and behind him were menacing goatmen carrying scythes or just the heads of rogues. Lenemo knew what he had to do, but he would not move. His feet failed him as the gargantous beast knocked charsi into the campfire, putting out the fire. Lenemo suddenly charged the beast w/ the sword swinging w/out direction. It struck the beast almost out of sheer luck, but the sword was now stuck on the arm of this beast as it was knocked down 10 ft away. Lenemo looked in horror as the beast slowly got up looking as if it had just woken from a good night's rest.
Akara tossed potions at Lenemo. Lenemo couldn't catch them. He was shaking. More walls fell, all around them... making their situation more ominous. They were now both running out of room to retreat. Time seemed to slow and lenemo could see all around him. He saw corpses all around, would he join them. He saw the once cheerful Charsi now extinguished. He saw memories of his father always disappointed of him and then his mother who he watched get dragged away by devilkins. Then there was a brave and still breathing akara, still somehow composed, yet ready to die.
Lenemo began feeling a surge of warmth within himself. His eyes glowed w/ a blinding blue, and a surge of energy emminated from him. Akara had felt paladin auras before but none like this. In fact, while paladin auras were holy, this was an aura of anger and desperation. This power rising was occurring purely within Lenemo. He pointed at the beast that still bore his sword, it banished as bolts of lightning came crashing down from the heavens. He looked at the sword that was once his, and disregarded it, and proceeded to annihilate everything else around them. Lenemo grew more foreign as all his armor dropped while he mercilessly destroyed all that was around him. Akara somehow, felt more fear now more than ever as she watched Lenemo sink further and further out of control.
