lady ami Makoto pondering by the sea ^ _ ^ Just a short little thought thing, not very long at all. It's kinda weird, so don't kill me. This is what I get for trying to write at midnight.

Lady Ami

Hell. That's what the last year or so has been. Complete hell. How do you tell another girl you like her? Really like her?

I look out to the sea. It's windy, and the wind continuously knocks the waves into my face. The wind is restless.

"Makoto!?" a voice asks. I turned to see Michiru. She looked upset too, but a bit surprised to see me. That's when I realize who's property I'm on. "Oh, Michiru! I'm sorry... I really shouldn't be here, should I? But this was the only pier I could go on and not get killed by anybody if I was caught... I'll leave," I said as I got up to go. But Michiru's small hand grabbed my wrist. "No..." she pleaded, "Please... Please stay here..." Confused but not about to turn Michiru's pleading down, I stayed. "What's wrong?" I asked. The wind blows her hair one way, then the next, and a tear falls from her eye. "Haruka..." She winced. "Oh... It'll all be okay, trust me." I told her. I should have known they were upset with each other for some reason or another. The wind's restlessness had told me that before, I was just not paying enough attention to notice.

We both sat on the pier in silence, mostly due to the fact that neither of us had much of anything to say. But suddenly, I had a strange flashback of a scene I never remembered...

"Who is it, Makoto?" Michiru asked. "Who is what?" I asked, snapping out of my gaze toward the other end of the long table. "Who are you looking at like that?" I felt the blush creeping into my cheeks. "Nobody..." I said quietly, avoiding eye contact. She giggled. "That's what I always used to say. Now, you tell me who you were looking at." I sighed. "Fine, I will, but only if you tell me who you like!" I exclaimed. "Oh, who I like? That's easy. Lady Haruka." My shyness suddenly left me. "Lady Haruka? Who is this Lady Haruka? I thought you'd say your little boyfriend over there, who keeps giving you that dazed look." She giggled again. "My 'little boyfriend over there' is not a boy. That is Lady Haruka. She doesn't much like to wear dresses, though. We've known each other since we were young, and grew to love each other. Think what you like about us both being female, but if you knew the feeling, you'd know it really doesn't matter..." I shook my head. "No way I'd think anything bad about the two of you! I... I..." "You what?" "I... like a girl." "Oooh, I see. Now we're getting somewhere. So you were looking at a girl over there, eh? Which one?" I sighed deeply, and looked at her. She was chatting happily with Lady Rei. "Lady Ami..."

As I snapped out of what seemed like the strangest dream I ever had, Michiru looked the way I felt. But then she looked at me, and grinned. "Ami, eh?" she asked. I blushed deeply. This time I could feel it spread through my body. How could she know? Did she have the same flashback too? When I looked around, the wind had stopped blowing, and it was lightly raining. Michiru must have seen the way I looked around for the wind. "We've patched things up. Haruka's coming down with her car, and she said she'd give you a ride to Rei's if you like, since that's where we're headed." This confused me, but I figured they're probably like telepathically linked or something... It really wouldn't surprise me.

Haruka's car pulled up the next minute, and I hopped in back. "Thanks for the ride," I said. "No problem, Mako-chan. Anytime."

But inside, I was relieved. At least now I knew that it wasn't just my imagination, I really did like Ami. Maybe she'd be at Rei's. If she is, I'll have to talk to her. Ami. My Lady Ami.

A/N: Ooookay. Yeah. Please review!
