You may not know
But a long time ago
The Earth danced with the Moon
And, oh, how their love shone.
Evil could not stand a chance
For their love was an unbreakable romance
Soon it would be late
Too horrible they didn't know their fate.
Then came a queen
Jealous of their love and mean
Calling her troops one by one
The war of hatred had begun.
As the queen destroyed
She grinned and seemed to enjoy
The sight of war
Something she always adored.
The lovers held on to each other
With all their might
Knowing their love
Would win the fight.
Together they fought
In an endless battle
Suddenly the universe
Began to rattle.
Worried,
For the safety of the Moon
The Earth left her
And entered his doom.
In front of the Moon's eyes
The Earth was defeated
And in her mind
This saddening image was repeated.
She grabbed a blade
Pure silver and sharp
Seeing the image again
She thrust it through her heart.
The Moon's mother,
The Queen of Good
Saw this tragedy
And did all she could.
The Queen of Good knew
Her kingdom would not survive
So she sent her people to the future
Even if it meant sacrificing her life.
But our story doesn't end there
I have to tell you the happiness they now share
The Moon and Earth found each other again
As lovers, and as best friends.
Today, if you look deep into the night sky
Make sure you look far and high
You will see them smiling, for
They love each other more and more.
You can still feel
Their passionate romance
And watch
Their neverending dance.
