This was inspired by Trapezoid's filk "American Pie Parody (Fred, Stay Alive!)"; and by Giulianna's filk "Long
November". And it's basically about whether or not Elfangor will be avenged by the end of the series...and a lot of weirder
stuff.
Music by Benny Andersson and Bjo:rn Ulvaeus
Original lyrics by Sir Tim Rice
Long ago,
In those backstory novels,
Someone with three names,
Who looked like Visser Three,
Came to know
The war and made a promise
No matter what the cost
He'd do what had to be
Lately
Ev'ryone'd gotten in pretty deep
The gentle image had grown impossible to keep
But, though I know it's not right so,
I'd be sad to see him go
In a way
It's someone else's story
Though he, too, has done
A lot to deserve hate
But the day
He was nearly killed on
Came for something else
Way back in book eight
Sadly
Or not, once more he was left behind
Left to be retaken by the evil in his mind
But still, I might see with dismay
It won't go so well this May
It's all very well to say they should die now or never
But whoever says
They'd have to stay together?
He could be
A "genie in a bottle",
And come back from the past,
The way Aldrea's done
He could flee,
He could be rescued somehow,
Freed, just like the host of
The first Visser One
And if
He saw Loren or Arbron once more,
Would he act one single thing remotely like before?
And now
Do I still want him free?
I'll just have to wait and see
I'll have to wait a month to see
