Usagi walked down the street. Umbrella in hand, she was trying to escape the sheets of rain pouring on her. Usagi was afraid of storms, the thunder and lightning reminded her of the terrible dreams she had as a child. As she thought back to her childhood, she thought of her friends. Rei, the fiery priestess; Makoto, warrior chef; Minako, the bubbly beauty; and Ami, the brainy water sprite. She missed how they once were. They had all changed as they got older. Rei was now training you to be a head priestess and was too serious to visit anymore. Makoto was too busy becoming a star chef to cook or talk about guys with her. Minako had gone back to England to work on her career as an actress and singer. And Ami had gone off to Harvard in America. They never did talk anymore. Oh, yes, the occasional phone call, but nothing like they used to. They had all grown distant.
Usagi walked some more the rain was coming down harder. Usagi started thinking about her relationship with her boyfriend, Mamoru. Mamoru had also been growing distant of late. He had finished school in Harvard and was back in Tokyo with a Ph.D in pediatric medicine. He had been canceling dates for weeks and when they went on dates he always seemed distracted. When Mamoru had first came back from America he seemed happy to see her, but now.... Usagi had been contemplating whether or not to break up with him. They weren't much of a couple now that she had stopped acting like the poor, little, defenseless, schoolgirl.
Usagi was almost to her one bedroom apartment as the rain started to lighten. Usagi had moved from her parents' house after peace had finally come for the Scouts. Usagi was now in classes to become an artist for anime. She had matured after their final battle and had decided to work for once. Usagi had graduated valedictorian of her class, surprising everyone, especially Ami. Usagi had been going to college for two years and had already gotten a job for the new anime, Sailor Moon. Usagi was content with her life.
Usagi unlocked the door to her apartment and walked in. Luna had gone to live with Minako and Artemis so she was all alone. As Usagi looked through her mail she thought one thing, 'Am I really happy with my life?'.
