"Don't fuss about me mom! I'm fine! I'll be okay! I have fallen from that cliff a hundred times and NEVER get hurt." I said pulling away from my mom
" I don't care! I never want you to fly off of that cliff again. It's a good thing Susie warned me about you doing that." She said, stitching up Hobbes
"I won't!" I yelled and stormed away
"God! Why won't she let me do anything fun?" I asked to myself, picking up the latest issue of Captain Napalm "I'll bet Captain Napalm's mom would have let him..." I said
"Maybe she didn't want you to die..." said a little voice in my head
"Who said that?" I jumped up and ran to the window
"You did." The voice said
"I did?"
"Yep."
"Why would I say something like that?"
"Because. In reality you didn't say it, but in your head you did."
"And who are you?"
"That little voice that says 'HEY!' when you're about to do something stupid." It said
"Hey! Where have you been all these years?"
"The little guy that says 'DO IT!' had me tied and gagged in the back. Anyway back to basi-"
"I knew he would do me proud..." the little voice said as Calvin walked away
"What! What are you doing here?" the 'Hey' guy asked as the 'Do it' guy walks up
" You need to learn to stay in the closet." He responded with a fist
Calvin stormed downstairs and grabbed Hobbes from the kitchen table.
"Where we going?" Hobbes said as Calvin grabbed his little red wagon again
"To jump off the cliff." He said
"But your mom said-" Hobbes protested
"But your mom said-" He mocked "Look, I don't give a flying rats butt what my mom says! We're going to jump that cliff."
They walked up the hill.
"Last chance to chicken out Calvin." Hobbes said
"I never do anything like that. Let's go." He hopped in the wagon
Hobbes gave a push and they were off. They weaved around trees and burrs. They missed rocks and other obstructions. They had done this course a hundred times before. They reached the edge of the cliff. They went over.
"We'll be fine!" Calvin yelled to Hobbes who was screaming
"What if we aren't?" He yelled back
"Then may our souls pass on for eternity." Calvin said, hitting the ground
