Don't Cry

Don't Cry

This story is told from Link's

point of View, before the

battle with Ganondorf

I gripped the Master Sword in my hand

And watched the Evil King rise

He pulled out his staff, ready to fight

Until I gazed into his eyes

Suddenly, the whole room froze

As I traveled back in time

To see what his life was like

Before darkness consumed his mind.

Standing now

In a shadowed room

I stare into the mirror

To see someone else staring back

A face of sadness, like no one cares

A face that shows his many fears

I touched my skin and realized

I was…Ganondorf.

I heard children outside

Playing, not a care in the world

When one of them came in

Nabooru, Queen of the Gerudos.

"Come on Dorf, you're missing all the fun!

We're testing how strong we are, come and join us!"

I wanted to hide and run.

I stepped outside into the hot desert sun

To see the girls pushing boxes in the sand.

"It's your turn, Dorf!" one of them called.

I walked up to the crate

Arms steady, ready.

Somehow, this felling in my heart

Told me this would choose my fate.

I started pushing it with all my power

But it did not move an inch

I ran and cowered.

I heard them outside.

"He's weak!"

A tear hit the ground.

I opened my eyes to be back in the room

Where Ganondorf was crying…

A light flashed from above

And a being surrounded with a red glow floated down

"Why?" He asked. "Why did you put me here?"

The woman gently touched his shoulder

"We put you here to test your strength. Not bodily, but in your heart."

I watched it all, and before she left

A tear of her own hit the ground

And "Goodbye, my son," she wept.

She turned to me, and then I saw

The power in her heart, and the love for her son.

Then I realized, and I whispered, "Din…"

With a slight smile, she was gone

I jumped to the platform where Ganondorf was

And saw him weeping, asking why.

He wasn't evil…he just needed a friend.

I put my hand on his shoulder and said,

"Ganondorf, don't cry."

I really believe that Ganondorf isn't that evil Hey, I'm not saying beating him at the end of the game stinks, this is just one possible way why he wanted to take over Hyrule. If someone ignores you and says you're weak, you'll wanna show them that you CAN do something. I think that's what happened with Ganondorf. Well, this is Malon, signing off!
