Draconian Blood

"Fear is only the acceptance of what one cannot see and what one cannot hear."

Fear is only the matter of what is unknown.

What causes fear?

That which is unknown.

The fear of what might happen, the fear of what is to come but still the matter is unknown.

What is the fate of a man that is alone?.

Chapter One: "Old Wounds"

I ran through the forest, the night sky as dark as tar. It was so dark I couldn't see myself run. My image void to be seen, I was scared and cold. The moonlight shone itself on the eastern side of the mountains. The cold wind blew harshly across my face, cutting it like a knife. I was escaping a place that had held me captive for too long. I was escaping from myself. The cruel memories of dying and screaming. I shook my head in disgust taunted by the lost of parents and the murders of the Draconians. I was cursed with a scar. In my mind I was still running. I collapsed to the ground, breathing hard. My heart beating faster and faster. I looked around to see those wings. The accursed wings that revealed my draconian blood. That's when he came. I was lying on the ground dying from some deep wounds when I felt for the first time, warm hands touching me. The man smiled down on me, his face glowing with the warmth of an angel. Barely conscience I tried sitting up but it was no use. The man had saw my wings but he did not try to kill me. I was a draconian, one of the cursed demons that would be hunted down and killed. He stared, barely visible in my sight. He had what looked like an mechanical arm of some sort. My body was so weak I could barely even see straight. The next thing I remember is waking up in some type of lab. I was strapped down to a table with men staring down at me as if I were dead.

I winched in pain as I tried moving my arms and legs. The pain shot through each limb causing me to grind my teeth. " What....are......you?", I groaned my vision still blurred.

I saw that man that saved me in the forest but he was looking at me as if I were dead too.

After what looked like an eternity they left the room. The man that saved me earlier untied my arms from the table. My head was pounding, It felt like someone had hit me with a really heavy hammer. "Who.....are...you?", I asked the man standing in front of me.

I was totally out of it. I really didn't know where I was. I tried to reach for what looked like the object in front of me and fell. " Folken" I heard someone say. "Huh". " My name's Folken". It was that man speaking to me. I winched again in pain as I tried getting off the floor. Then suddenly I felt cold metal grasp my arm. My arm was broken along with a couple of ribs and I had a really bad headache. At the time I had a really bad case of amnesia. I didn't remember where I came from or were I was going. I didn't remember anything. I stayed bedridden for a month. They kept me locked up in a room. Actually, it was located on the Zaibach floating fortress. The only thing that I could remember is the name "Folken" and that metal arm. Then it came rushing back. The horrible memories. Then those wings. "Damn it!, I had to get out of here." For some reason I felt a strong bond between me and that mysterious man with the metal arm. That might have been why he brought me here.
