Sheer Blade
By: Celtic:Dynasty
You know, sharp objects often scare me, especially knives. The pointy edge, the smooth surface, doesn't it resemble death? Every time I see one I tremble, but here I am holding a very sharp knife. It's sheer all right. The light reflected as it glistened. Oh man, I can't believe I'm doing this. Ok, ok, I have to be strong. I gazed at it. All right knife, today we'll be best friends. All my life I had so many worries and doubts. But right now I'm pushing that behind. I can do this, I know I can. I mean people have done it, right? So how hard could it be? I'm all alone right now. No one taught me how to do this, I just saw it. I guess it's time.
One...two...three, oh it went through. It was so keen the knife penetrated through the skin. I pushed it deeper until I saw the edge on the other side. Eww, the red juice scattered. But I'm not done; I need to do it a couple more times. Right now I wasn't scared anymore, the cutting felt good. It wasn't hard at all. There it goes again, my hand was fine, still hanging on to it as the red fluid got on my shirt. Aw, it's stained, but I don't care I'm not done and I got the hang of it. Well, after a minute of cutting I was done.
Hey, I guess it wasn't that hard. I'm going to cut more; it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. And the knife became my best friend. I did it again, but it was harder. The pieces got smaller. I looked at my hands. They were red all over. The red ooze was still gushing down my left hand. I guess I'm done now. I washed the knife and put it back where it belonged. I dried my hands.
"All right Li I'm done with the tomatoes," I said as he entered the kitchen.
"Thanks Sakura, now I can cook," he replied, "By the way you stained your shirt."
"Yeah, I know that," I answered.
"Who are the strawberries for?"
"The tomatoes are yours, these strawberries," I said as I ate a couple, "are mine. Good luck cooking." I went outside licking my finger.
I guess cutting is fun after all. I'll do it again some other time...these strawberries are good, want some?
