Nothing Like Family
Life in the 'Waite' house isn't really normal. Even though Jamie Waite thought everyone's family was little weird. But, his family was way weird. First, Jamie is only sixteen and was an EMT. Second, was that his little brother -- Gregory -- is eleven and goes on dates, with girls every Friday. Finally, Jamie's parents (Donna & Jim Waite) split up, but live in the same house. Jamie had always thought that were a little weird, like when the time...
Four Years Ago -
"Jamie, can you tell your father to hurry on that garage plan he's doing." His mother would tell him.
"Sure, mom." twelve year old Jamie ran outside. Their, he saw his father kissing another woman. He began to run into the house, baring to leave what was behind him. He ran half way but stopped. Was his parents really split up? Or did they only say that because they were fighting? Jamie decided to tell his mother anyway, continuing to run.
"Mom! Look outside." He said, no worried, his mother looked out into the garage.
"Oh! Melanie! I been wanting to talk to her and ordering from AVON." She acted like she was best friends with this Melanie woman.
"But, her and dad were kissing." The young Jamie explained. His mother shrugged, confused.
"Honey, you have to unserstand, your father and I are no longer married. But, we have to live here because we have no money to buy another apartment for you father." Tears welled up in his eyes, not showing them he nodded and walked away.
Present -
Life in the Waite's house always been a little weird. When Jamie was little the always moved from house to house. City to city. Finally, the moved to Kingsport and stayed their for five years. They promised they'd never move again when Jamie's dad quit his job. Then a few years back - he met the girl of his dreams. Catie. The tiny one, the one with hair so bouncy and dark.
Jamie sat in his room, laying on his bed. He placed his hands behind his head, as he lyed on his back. He stared at the ceiling. Thinking about how hard his life could've been if their wasn't any Catie. It wasn't that bad. But, Catie was his main person in his life. He couldn't let her go.
The next morning when he woke up he walked past his mother and out the door.
"Jamie, don't I get a kiss goodbye. I am your mother you know." She joked as she made breakfast for Gregory. Jamie smiled and rolled his eyes, playfully.
"Bye mom." He said as he kissed his mother on the cheek. "Bye Greg!" He waved to his little brother and slammed the door as he left. No meaning to slam it, but he sure did.
He opened the door again and said, "Sorry. Slipped." Donna smiled and shook her head to think of what a nice boy he's grown up to be. I mean, he was in the EMS squad and all and she couldn't believe it with everything he's been going through.
Jamie's father was outside fixing a car. "Bye dad!" He said as he hopped onto his motorcycle.
"See ya, Son. Be careful, ya hear." he sped off, as he gave his father a thumb up. Jim smiled.
Even though Jamie had a hard life, sort of. He always knew he could turn to his family if he needed it.
THE END! NO MORE CHAPTERS COMING.... SORRY.
