A/N} I wrote this for English as a Narrative paragraph, desrcibing my first day of band at shcool my freshman year, after we'd already been practicing and had a performance already. Mr. Lovell is our director. ::glares at ffn:: and dont just be random characters this time.
**First Day of Band**
It was the first day of school. Fifth hour and I had just walked into the band room as a lost freshman. Mr. Lovell was sitting on a stool, quietly waiting for everyone to sit down and be quiet. Right away I knew it wasn't going to be like Jr. High where Mr. Moffit yelled at us to "shush" or settle down. Already Mr. Lovell was placing the responsibility on the students. The bell rang and we looked at him expectantly. He looked around the room, as though he was looking each person in the eyes, as he explained that those band members dedicated enough had already been practicing for two weeks, and those that thought they were just going to slide through and get an "A" had been go to the guidance office as soon as lunch started and switch out to something they wanted before he switched them to study hall. As Mr. Lovell spoke, I felt something inside myself I hadn't expected. Happiness was spreading through my body. Band was going to be fun. I was going to get out of band what I knew music had to offer: fun, a dedicated group, and great music to play.
