Hey guys! How are ya?! Sorry for the long delay, but I was grounded...stupid report card...anyway, I hope you like this one-I've been thinking about it for a while. My muses just won't leave me alone about ideas. Oh, and about SIB's, I'll get to it eventually! Eeeeek, my first songfic! Reviews are a GOOD thing! *shocked* Also, I know some of the lyrics aren't right, but I decided to change it up a bit. Words in italics are the song, and words in //these things and italics// are Heero's memories. I might write an accompaniment piece if you guys wanna know why Duo seemed kinda distracted. Either it'll be Duo was sorta the same way, or that he was drawing and wondering why Heero was distracted...I dunno. Oh, by the way, my three "helpful" muses, (Marimei, Mitsuki, and Tenshi no Shinigami) are the reasons why this is so serious. Hmm, if you guys want me to, I might even put some lemon in the next one! (Or at least some lime...) Well, here ya go!

My Daddy Gave Me A Name

Heero settled down next to his laptop in a chair in the motel. Duo was one step behind him, walking to the clock radio. Probably going to turn on that blasted noise he referred to as music. Heero remembered in some subconscious region of his mind that Duo only did that when he, Heero, was about to start working on his laptop. He scowled. The radio switched on, but for some reason, Duo left it quiet. Something told Heero to listen.

Father of mine
Tell me where have you been
Ya know I just closed my eyes
The whole world is so pale(?)...

Heero switched on his laptop and opened his e-mail, trying to block out the music. He couldn't.

Father of mine
Take me back to the day
Yeah, when I was still your Golden Boy
Back before you went away...

Unbidden, the memories Heero had thought he'd forgotten came flying back faster than Wing in Bird Mode.

I remember blue skies
Walks in the park*
I loved it when you held me high
I loved to hear you talk...

//A two-year-old Heero ran down the sidewalk, laughing and yelling at a twenty-something man to hurry, or there wouldn't be any ice cream left! The older man just laughed and said there'd be plenty left, just you wait. Heero stopped and pouted, wondering if they'd EVER get there.//

'Not now, that's all in the past. It's over, done with, he's GONE. You don't need to think about it! Get on with reading about your next mission, Heero,' Heero told himself.
But he couldn't stop the flow of memories...

You would take me to the movies
You would take me to the beach
You would take me to a place inside
That is so hard to reach...

//Heero ran across the beach, tugging a kite behind that refused to go up.
"Daddy!" he yelled.
"Yes, Heero?" (Yes, I know his real name isn't Heero, but I don't give a d@mn)
"Why won't it go up?!" he said, on the verge of tears.
"Here, climb onto my shoulders and we'll make it go up."
"Really?!"
The man chuckled. "Yes. Really."
"Alright!"
Heero jumped onto his father's back they ran across the beach, the kite high in the sky.//

Father of mine
Tell me, where did you go
Yeah, you had the world inside you, man
But you did not seem to know...

//"Okaasan?" said Heero.
"Hai?"
"Where's Otousan?"
Heero's mother broke down crying.
"Okaasan? Why are you crying?"//

Father of mine
Tell me, what do you see
When you look back at your wasted life
And you don't see me...

"Duo," said Heero quietly.
"Hmm? What?"
"Turn off the radio."
"No way, man! I love this song-"
"TURN THE D@MN RADIO OFF!"
"Alright, alright, sheesh. Ya don't have ta yell."
"Omae o korosu."
"Did you say something?"
