thankyou

A jyoumi songfic of the song "Thank You" by Dido. It's im Mimi's pov um....the statistic about the key thing is flase, I made it up. I don't own Digimon and I guess thats it, enjoy!

Mimi Tachikawa sat the the kitchen table of her Odaiba apartment. As she cradled a cup of tea she contemplated the following hours of her day. It was a rainy Sunday morning and she had nothing to do. The apartment was chilly, and Mimi pulled the sleeves of her sweater down and rubbed her fingers around on the the thick, white ceramic of her teacup as if to warm them. They day seem so gray, it made her feel as if she engulfed in the enternal gray and she sat glumly with no desire to move.

My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window and I can't see at all
And even if I could it'd all be gray
But your picture on my wall, it reminds me that it's not so bad
It's not so bad

Mimi smiled and took the picture down form the wall. The had both looked so cute, Joe was smiling so....sincerely was the only word she could think of to describe it. Mimi fingered the smooth glass over Joe's face and hugged the picture, wishing Joe was with her now. She always felt cheerful around him and is was so hard to feel cheerful on a day like this, when everything was filled with gloom.

How could I have overslept!?! Mimi asked herself angrily as she combed her chestnut brown hair behind one ear and looked frantically around for her keys. She had no idea when she had got home last night and remembered with a pang she hadn't turned in this month's rent yet. She yawned and shoved on a coat. I'm never going out a Sunday night, or any other night when I have work the next day for that matter, even if I get to see all the DigiDestined! she vowed firmly as she ran out the door.

I drank too much last night, got bills today
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there'll be hell today, I'm late for work again
And even if I'm there, they'll all imply
That I might not last the day

The phone was ringing when she opened the door. Mimi threw her stuff down on the couch and yanked the phone off the hook, plopping onto the couch as she did.

Hey Mimi, what's up in Odiaba?

Joe!!! Mimi almost fell off the couch.

And then you call me, and it's not so bad
It's not so bad, and
I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you is having the best day of my life

Mimi search through her bag, rather unsuccessfully, for her house keys. When was this eternal rain ever going to stop? she muttered as she pulled a large clump of key chains for her coat pocket and unlocked the door. Ugh, the week had gone from bad to worse and too top it all off she had been drenched from head to foot by the spray form an oblivious truck as is roared through a puddle.
That's funny, the door wasn't even-AH! Mimi shrieked as she stared at the foreign man in her house.
Oh geez Mimi, let me get you a towel!
Joe!! How did you get in? she asked, very puzzled.
The key under the doormat. Did you know that 75% percent of homeowners keep an extra key there? It's actually a pretty unsafe practice if you ask me. Joe called out from the bathroom, as Mimi peeled off her soaked coat.

Push the door, I'm home at last
And I'm soaking through and through
Then you handed me a towel and all I see is you
And even if my house falls down now, I wouldn't have a clue
Because you're near me and

I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you is having the best day of my life
