Angel

On top of the world
She sits alone
A beautiful monster
Science, a mother
Military, a father
Her only teacher, herself

On top of the world
Looking out at Her city
Beautiful and wrecked
A city, she found
An enemy, she hides
A crippled love she cannot leave

On top of the world
Night is her color
Brown, her eyes
Gray, her past
The blackness in her soul
The emptiness she tries to hide

On top of the world
She sits alone
A winner, genetically
A loser, socially
Biting wit to protect
The naive yearning to belong
