Silenced Forever
Copyrights: Les Misérables*Ha, again*, Javert. This is a Javert poem, concerning his famous suicide.
Rated PG 13 for an altogether VERY NICE poem and to be safe. This poem is nonrhyming.
*Writer's block will not stop me - can you tell?*

I walk down this silenced bridge,
I ponder over that figure's gall.
Was it my destiny to be granted pardon?
He is the sin, I am the pardon.
I did not grant him freedom so easily,
Yet he released me at a moment's decision.

I shall not die branded as one
Whom is pitied and sympathized.
I shall die as one who upheld justice,
To his final hour.

This man has granted me my life,
Did he expect for me to bow and ask for his forgiveness?
I would never stoop to that level.
Never in my life shall I turn out to be
A beggar on the streets, following in the footsteps of an old con.

This river tempts me,
I have nothing more to live for,
See, look what mercy amounts to.
But I have made my last accusation,
My final conviction,
And my last confession to myself.
I am silenced forever by the deceiving water. . .
