Flying Free
GW Katrina
He was free. Nothing tied him to this reality. He
flew, reveling in the rushing of wind over his wings.
Once, he had had a form. One that didn't have wings.
In this form... He couldn't remember. That disturbed
him. Something about not remembering was wrong.
Somehow, he sensed that the memories he had forgotten
held pain. Pain was bad, he did remember that. But
there was also joy to those things he had no contact
with.
Flash.
"Come on! The firework display will start soon! And I
want good seats." A young boy, blond and smiling. Joy
was attached to him. Love.
Flash.
A woman, white hair. She was having a pillow fight with
the boy, both laughing. Joy was mixed with this memory
too.
Flash.
Looking at the stars, a new woman next to him. Friend.
Someone he had fought, but had made peace with. Joy.
Flash.
Laying on the grass, staring at the sky, watching
the birds. A woman, one who radiated innocence. Joy.
She smiled, saying something about the bright feathers.
Flash.
One eye. Anger. This woman didn't equal joy, but was
still tied up with friend. Sadness.
Flash.
He was still flying, still free, but aching. He wanted
to be with them. He wanted his memories. One thing
tied them all. His name. Remember his name, and he
could have it all back.
"Gene Starwind"
No longer alone. He still was flying free, but now
he had his family with him.
The End
Yah, yah, not very good. However, not too shabby for
ten minutes of work.(when muses attack. Good idea for
a show) Tell me what you think.
