A Lost Love: Chapter 4

"I see you finally woke up!" Gohan said cheerfully leaning on the door frame
of Serena's room.
"Ugh... What time is it?" Serena said groggily.
"Almost 1:00," Gohan replied.
"WHAT 1:00! I'M SO LATE!!! LUNA! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP?!" Serena said
jumping out of the bed. Gohan watched the girl scramble on one of his old
orange fuku's.
Gohan snickered quietly in the corner as the girl rushed around the room,
getting dressed and ready. Suddenly Serena stopped dead in her tracks, and
turned to look at Gohan.
"Your not Luna? Who are you?" she asked with a look of utter confusion.
"Don't tell me you forgot again." Gohan said shaking his head.
"Wait a minute, this is not my uniform. These are yours, aren't they?"
Serena said, turning a deep shade of red.
"Yeah, they are. Ya, know you sure can get dressed fast. Man I've never
seen someone move like that. I'm guessing you do that a lot," he said, as
he walked into the room and started making the bed.
"Uh, yeah, pretty much every morning. I'm not much of a "morning person"
really," Serena admitted.
"Well, I must say you sure do get your sleep," Gohan said.
"How long have you been up?" Serena asked, trying to point out that he
probably got almost as much sleep.
"6:00" he replied simply.
"6:00!?" she repeated, with unbelieving eyes.
"Well, I usually wake up by 5:00 to go and spar with my father, but last
night we decided not to start until you were taken care of."
"Oh."
"Wait, wasn't this your room?" Serena said noticing her clothes weren't on
the chair by the bed. Mostly because the chair wasn't there.
"Um, yeah," Gohan said scratching the back of his head, "Last night you came
in here, while I was asleep that is." He lied, he was awake, but he didn't
want to tell her that, for he didn't want her to think bad thoughts.
"Oh, sorry, I kinda have this thing with sleep walking...hehe..." Serena was
blushing as she made this comment.
"That's o.k. Well., any way, I think all the girls were going to take you
shopping today," Gohan said, changing the subject.
"Oh, well, I would love to, but unfortunately I don't have any money,"
Serena said, staring at the ground.
"That's no problem, Bulma owns the most successful company on the planet!
Trust me she has plenty of money to spend," Gohan cheerily said.
"Really? What company might that be?" Serena inquired, interested in what
these times had in stock.
"She owns Capsule Corp., do you know what that is?" Gohan asked in reply.
"No, what is it? Or I mean what does it sell?" Serena asked.
"It sells capsules." Gohan said, as if Serena knew what those were.
"Excuse me, capsules?" Serena commented with a weird look.
"You don't know what capsules are? Man your times are way behind in
technology," Gohan was a little shocked to find she didn't know about
capsules.
"Yeah...well..." Serena said as she scratched the back of her head, a sweet
drop appeared on her head.
"Well, don't worry, you will come to know them well. Once you go shopping
with my mom and Bulma you will now about every product they make!" Gohan
grinned and winked at Serena.
"Yay! Shopping is my fav. past time! Especially when I have money, " Serena
chuckled.
"Good, cause you will be doing a lot today!" Gohan joined Serena in
laughing.
Well, the next two hours were pretty normal. Then it was time to shop 'till
you drop! Literally!
"Mom! We're here!' Gohan shouted as he and Serena walked into the front
door.
"Hey, Gohan! What's up big bro.?" Goten said as he bounced into the room.
"What did you do? Your to cheerful and nice to be innocent..." Gohan eyed
Goten.
"Oh, no, I'm just saying hi to my brother. So, did you get a good nights
sleep?" Goten snickered as he elbowed Gohan in the side.
"You dork... kids..." Gohan said as he lightly slapped his brother away. He
and Serena walked into the den and sat down.
"I know how you feel, I have a younger brother too. And, boy, is he a pain!"
Serena said rolling her eyes.
"Yeah... but ya gotta love um... or else the parents get mad!" Gohan smiled.
"No kidding... it's just not fair... why do we have to be so dang nice?"
Serena smiled back.
"Although I can see their reasoning, I am mildly experienced in that field,"
Serena closeing her eyes and envisioning Darien and Reenie.
"You have a child?" Gohan asked, a little...um...disappointed, I guess?
"No not yet, I just had to take care of mine in the future for a while,"
Serena explained.
Now it was Gohan's turn to be confused.
"Never mind, I'd rather not get into it-" Serena was kind of cut off by
Chichi entering the room.
"Oh! Hello! When did you two get here?" Chichi said, with a pleasant sound
of surprise.
"We haven't been here long. So when are you guys going shopping?" Gohan
asked his mother as he got up and kissed her on the check.
"As soon as Bulma gets here! I swear that woman takes forever to get ready
to go to the mall, she acts as if she were still single!" Chichi yelled,
with a bit of frustration.
"You mean she's not?" Serena asked.
"Why no! My, she is almost 50! Her and Vegita have been together for quite
some time!" Chichi exclaimed, with a little snicker.
"Vegita! I thought that was her bother, or maybe another son! I had no idea
that was her husband!" Serena exclaimed back, with surprise written all over
her face.
"And he is a damn good one if you ask me!" Came Bulma's voice from the
doorway.
"Oh, hi Bulma! I didn't see you come in!" Chichi greeted Bulma warmly.
"That's o.k. So Serena what do you think about shopping? Cause your gonna do
more today than some people do in a life time!" Bulma yelled excitedly.
"Sounds like fun…" Serena said, still trying to imagine this woman as 50.
"Well, then come on! Lets go shopping!" Bulma said as she grabbed Serena and
Chichi, by the collar and drug them to the car.
"See ya Gohan!" Bulma yelled.
Gohan was standing in the doorway waving. Serena sat quietly in the back
seat waving a solemn good bye. Gohan chuckled to himself, seeing the scared
expression on Serena's face.
When Serena, Chichi, and Bulma got to the mall, they all had the time of
their lives! Serena was having so much fun! She had always loved shopping,
but she never really had the money to shop like this! She bought clothes,
shoes, jewelry, makeup, toiletries, hair stuff, and lots of other stuff.
Chichi and Bulma were having fun too, they hadn't gone on a shopping spree
like this for years!
As their trolling started to slow down a bit, they went in to nice little
restaurant to have dinner. They were all sitting and laughing. Talking
about funny stories, the buzz these days, and many other girl topics. After
dinner they were driving home when all the sudden a strange man ran in front
of their car. Bulma screeched onto the brakes. But it was no use they hit
the man, and swerved into a ditch. The odd man was wearing all black and was
carrying a bag. It was a robber. And he was running from something, or
someone franticly.
Then all Serena could remember was a man…Super Sayin Man was his name, or so
she thought, and he seemed to be a lot like sailor moon, cause he had saved
them and caught the robber. But that's all she remember before it all went
black…
When Serena woke up she was in a hospital bed. She looked around her, she
saw on one side of her Bulma. She was lying on a bed next to a window.
Vegita was asleep next to her on the window. She looked bad, but not to bad.
On her other side she saw Gohan. She just then noticed the needle and tube
stuck into her arm. There was blood flowing through it. Gohan had a similar
attachment and the two tubes were connected. Then it hit her that he was
giving her blood, then she remembered the accident.
Gohan opened his eyes from his light sleep and noticed that Serena was
awake. He smiled at her. He would have said something, but he couldn't for
he and her had something over their mouths feeding them oxygen. Then Goku
walked up to Serena's bed.
"Hey, your awake! How are ya feelin'?" he asked. Serena couldn't answer only
nodded a slight no.
"I'm sorry, ya know you've been asleep for a long time little missy, almost
three whole days."
Serena's eyes widened at this comment. But Goku knew what she was saying.
"Yep three whole days. But don't feel bad, so have Bulma and Chichi. And to
think you got the worst of it!" Goku said, trying to cheer her up.
Gohan then yanked on his fathers shirt so he would turn around. He motioned
for Goku to take off his mask, so he did.
"Thanx, that thing is so annoying," Gohan said, "Where's Goten, Trunks, and
Bura?"
"They all went over to Capsule Corps., to take a nap. Vegita insisted on
staying though, in case she woke up," Goku explained.
"Oh," Gohan replied. When they were done talking Serena had already dozed
off again.
"Man, that girl is just having a rough time. The poor thing has been her for
two days and already almost killed twice! I know I have my close calls in
battle and all, but at least I don't get hurt in every day life!" Goku
commented.
"It's my fault, I should have caught that robber sooner!" Gohan said.
"It's not your fault son, you did your best, you did save her from the car
at least, and look at you now! I mean you are giving her your blood! Isn't
that good enough?" Goku exclaimed pointing to the tube in Gohan's arm.
"No! I should have just been more cautious! I need to be their and watch
her!" Gohan hit his hand on the bed rail.
"You can't always be with her, I mean what about Super Sayin Man?" Goku
asked.
"He will have to be put on hold until we can get her home!" Gohan said.
Although Serena didn't have her eyes open and wasn't fully awake, didn't
mean she couldn't hear them…
"Uhhh…" a groan came from Bulma's bed. Goku walked over there.
"What happened?" she asked.
"You were in a car wreck," Goku said.
"How are Chichi and Serena?" she mumbled.
"Their o.k. How are you feeling?" he asked back.
"Terrible…" she uttered.
Goku walked to the other side of her bed and lightly tapped Vegita on the
shoulder to wake him up.
"I'LL KILL YOU KAKAROT!" he jumped and nearly fell out of his chair.
"Vegita! Get a hold of yourself! She's awake." Goku bellowed.
"Oh, Bulma, are you alright? God! Why do you have to be such a bad driver!
You could have killed yourself!" Vegita exclaimed. Bulma smiled.
"I didn't know that you cared." She muttered back to him.
"Well, you are my wife."
Bulma smiled and grabbed Vegita's tie, and kissed him.
"See, that's why I care…" Vegita said with a sweet (yes I know sweet!)
smirk.
"Sure…" Bulma said back to him.
"Where are the kids?" she asked.
"They went home to take a nap," Goku answered for Vegita.
In the next few hours Chichi had awoken too, and asked mostly the same ting
and every thing. Over the next days the girls stayed in the hospital. When
they went home, they each had something broken and couldn't or wouldn't
function, there for mad the men wait on them hand and foot. Gohan was
willing, Goku didn't really mind, for Chichi was always ordering him around,
and Vegita made Trunks do most of the work.
After a month or so, all was better and back to normal.
By now the summer was over, and Gohan was back in college. Though Serena was
enjoying sleeping in and all, they decided she should go to school. They
signed her up at Trunks, Goten, and Bura's high school. Serena was put in
first year high school, Bura was in third year junior high, Trunks was in
second year high school, and Goten was also in first year high school.
On the first day, Gohan took Serena and Gohan to school, so that they
wouldn't be late.
"Goten come here," Gohan whispered and motioned for Goten to com closer.
"What is it Gohan?" he asked.
"I want you to really watch out for her. Ya know just be nice, o.k.?" Gohan
said.
"Don't worry Gohan she'll be fine," Goten said, dismissing him with a wave
of the hand.
"See ya after school!" with that Goten left for homeroom. Serena was still
in the office registering.
"Well, I guess this is were we go our separate ways," Gohan walked up behind
her.
"Yeah, well, I don't want to be late the first day so I'll see after school,
ok?" Serena said cheerfully as she headed for the door.
"Yeah, see ya!" Gohan waved after her. As he to was leaving he was thinking
to himself how much he was being like his mother. Very over protective. With
that though he stopped worrying as much.
In homeroom, Serena looked for an open seat. She saw one next to an older
girl with dark brown hair that was pulled back in to low pigtails. Serena
liked the girl already.
"Hi! I'm Serena," Serena introduced herself.
"Hi! My name is Videl, are you new?" she seemed nice enough.
"Yes I am, I just moved here with my…um…uncle!" Serena lied.
"Oh, who's your uncle? Maybe I know him?" She asked.
"His name is Son Goku," she replied, not yet knowing her mistake.
"YOUR UNCLE IS SON GOKU?!" Videl looked wide eyed at Serena.
"Yeah, you know him?" she asked.
"Of course I do! He is the most famous guy in the world that's all! Man he's
a hero around here!" Videl told Serena about some of the past times Goku had
saved the earth, and Serena was blown out of her boots, although she tried
to hide her surprise.
"Oh, yeah well I knew that," she replied.
"Any way, enough about your uncle, are you going to stay here long," Videl
asked.
"For a while," was Serena reply, because she really didn't know.
"Oh, well, ya wanna sit next to me, it's always hard to be the new kid," she
offered the seat next to her and Serena sat down.
After homeroom, Serena had a few classes with no one she knew. Fourth period
she had with Goten though. He was nice to her and introduced her to some of
his friends, most of them guys. Serena fell right in with Goten's friends,
mostly because she was a skinny blond girl and they were guys.
At lunch Goten offered for Serena to eat with him and his friends, but to
his surprise she was already eating with someone else, it was Videl.
Serena ate her lunch in a frenzy, as if she hadn't been fed for days. Videl
snicker, but didn't want to be rude, so she left it at that.
That day, Videl offered to take Serena to a movie, Serena gladly excepted.
So they went to the movie and had a good time. After the movie they both
stopped at a restaurant and had a hamburger.
By the time Serena got home it was already dark.
"Hello? Any one home?" She called as she walked in the front door.
"Serena! Where have you been?! Do you know what time it is?!" Gohan came
running into the front hallway from the kitchen.
"It's not that late…I didn't think. Sorry I didn't call but I don't know
your number yet," Serena said, with a "are you feeling OK" look on her face.
"But… you… wait a minute…hey I'm not done!" Gohan called after Serena as she
walked into the den.
"What else do you want to say? I said sorry for not calling, I didn't know
that you really cared," Serena said as she as she plopped down on the chair.
"Well…where were you any way?" Gohan asked.
"I went to a movie, and then to dinner. Is that bad?" Serena looked at him.
"No…but who did you go with?" he asked as he too sat down.
"I went with a new friend, her name is Videl…" Serena told him.
"Oh…" was all Gohan could really say.
"Don't get so worried. One I can take care of myself and two you aren't like
my father or anything! Actually your my cousin," Serena said.
"WHAT? Your cousin?" Gohan blurted, with an astonished look.
"Yeah, I told everyone that Goku was my uncle and that I was staying with
you guys for a while…is that O.K.?" Serena asked.
"Yeah, that fine…I guess," He said, not really knowing what to say.
"Any who, how do you like the crime fighting business?" Serena asked making
conversation.
"What? What do you mean…?" Gohan asked, not knowing that Serena knew about
Super Sayin Man, for this was the first time she brought it up.
"Ya know, Super Sayin Man…" Serena said.
"What, I wouldn't know…" Gohan said, trying to conceal his secret.
"You don't have to pretend, Gohan. I know. I heard you talk about it in the
hospital, and ya know you don't have to stop the hero business for me…" she
added.
"How do you know? I never said anything, while you were awake that is…"
"Even though my eyes are closed doesn't mean I can't hear," Serena
explained.
"Oh…"
"So how do you like it? I know it's can be fun sometime…and others…" she
kind of trailed off after that.
"I know…" Gohan replied.
Well, I hope you liked it! Sorry, I haven't had much of this story out
lately, but I just keep missing the deadlines, and I have another story out
to. Also don't think that I'm spending more time on What if…? Cause I'm not,
it's just easier to write not only that, but the chapters are shorter too.
But I hope to have another chapter next week, but I might not cause I'm

"You can't always be with her, I mean what about Super Sayin Man?" Goku
asked.
"He will have to be put on hold until we can get her home!" Gohan said.
Although Serena didn't have her eyes open and wasn't fully awake, didn't
mean she couldn't hear them…
"Uhhh…" a groan came from Bulma's bed. Goku walked over there.
"What happened?" she asked.
"You were in a car wreck," Goku said.
"How are Chichi and Serena?" she mumbled.
"Their o.k. How are you feeling?" he asked back.
"Terrible…" she uttered.
Goku walked to the other side of her bed and lightly tapped Vegita on the
shoulder to wake him up.
"I'LL KILL YOU KAKAROT!" he jumped and nearly fell out of his chair.
"Vegita! Get a hold of yourself! She's awake." Goku bellowed.
"Oh, Bulma, are you alright? God! Why do you have to be such a bad driver!
You could have killed yourself!" Vegita exclaimed. Bulma smiled.
"I didn't know that you cared." She muttered back to him.
"Well, you are my wife."
Bulma smiled and grabbed Vegita's tie, and kissed him.
"See, that's why I care…" Vegita said with a sweet (yes I know sweet!)
smirk.
"Sure…" Bulma said back to him.
"Where are the kids?" she asked.
"They went home to take a nap," Goku answered for Vegita.
In the next few hours Chichi had awoken too, and asked mostly the same ting
and every thing. Over the next days the girls stayed in the hospital. When
they went home, they each had something broken and couldn't or wouldn't
function, there for mad the men wait on them hand and foot. Gohan was
willing, Goku didn't really mind, for Chichi was always ordering him around,
and Vegita made Trunks do most of the work.
After a month or so, all was better and back to normal.
By now the summer was over, and Gohan was back in college. Though Serena was
enjoying sleeping in and all, they decided she should go to school. They
signed her up at Trunks, Goten, and Bura's high school. Serena was put in
first year high school, Bura was in third year junior high, Trunks was in
second year high school, and Goten was also in first year high school.
On the first day, Gohan took Serena and Gohan to school, so that they
wouldn't be late.
"Goten come here," Gohan whispered and motioned for Goten to com closer.
"What is it Gohan?" he asked.
"I want you to really watch out for her. Ya know just be nice, o.k.?" Gohan
said.
"Don't worry Gohan she'll be fine," Goten said, dismissing him with a wave
of the hand.
"See ya after school!" with that Goten left for homeroom. Serena was still
in the office registering.
"Well, I guess this is were we go our separate ways," Gohan walked up behind
her.
"Yeah, well, I don't want to be late the first day so I'll see after school,
ok?" Serena said cheerfully as she headed for the door.
"Yeah, see ya!" Gohan waved after her. As he to was leaving he was thinking
to himself how much he was being like his mother. Very over protective. With
that though he stopped worrying as much.
In homeroom, Serena looked for an open seat. She saw one next to an older
girl with dark brown hair that was pulled back in to low pigtails. Serena
liked the girl already.
"Hi! I'm Serena," Serena introduced herself.
"Hi! My name is Videl, are you new?" she seemed nice enough.
"Yes I am, I just moved here with my…um…uncle!" Serena lied.
"Oh, who's your uncle? Maybe I know him?" She asked.
"His name is Son Goku," she replied, not yet knowing her mistake.
"YOUR UNCLE IS SON GOKU?!" Videl looked wide eyed at Serena.
"Yeah, you know him?" she asked.
"Of course I do! He is the most famous guy in the world that's all! Man he's
a hero around here!" Videl told Serena about some of the past times Goku had
saved the earth, and Serena was blown out of her boots, although she tried
to hide her surprise.
"Oh, yeah well I knew that," she replied.
"Any way, enough about your uncle, are you going to stay here long," Videl
asked.
"For a while," was Serena reply, because she really didn't know.
"Oh, well, ya wanna sit next to me, it's always hard to be the new kid," she
offered the seat next to her and Serena sat down.
After homeroom, Serena had a few classes with no one she knew. Fourth period
she had with Goten though. He was nice to her and introduced her to some of
his friends, most of them guys. Serena fell right in with Goten's friends,
mostly because she was a skinny blond girl and they were guys.
At lunch Goten offered for Serena to eat with him and his friends, but to
his surprise she was already eating with someone else, it was Videl.
Serena ate her lunch in a frenzy, as if she hadn't been fed for days. Videl
snicker, but didn't want to be rude, so she left it at that.
That day, Videl offered to take Serena to a movie, Serena gladly excepted.
So they went to the movie and had a good time. After the movie they both
stopped at a restaurant and had a hamburger.
By the time Serena got home it was already dark.
"Hello? Any one home?" She called as she walked in the front door.
"Serena! Where have you been?! Do you know what time it is?!" Gohan came
running into the front hallway from the kitchen.
"It's not that late…I didn't think. Sorry I didn't call but I don't know
your number yet," Serena said, with a "are you feeling OK" look on her face.
"But… you… wait a minute…hey I'm not done!" Gohan called after Serena as she
walked into the den.
"What else do you want to say? I said sorry for not calling, I didn't know
that you really cared," Serena said as she as she plopped down on the chair.
"Well…where were you any way?" Gohan asked.
"I went to a movie, and then to dinner. Is that bad?" Serena looked at him.
"No…but who did you go with?" he asked as he too sat down.
"I went with a new friend, her name is Videl…" Serena told him.
"Oh…" was all Gohan could really say.
"Don't get so worried. One I can take care of myself and two you aren't like
my father or anything! Actually your my cousin," Serena said.
"WHAT? Your cousin?" Gohan blurted, with an astonished look.
"Yeah, I told everyone that Goku was my uncle and that I was staying with
you guys for a while…is that O.K.?" Serena asked.
"Yeah, that fine…I guess," He said, not really knowing what to say.
"Any who, how do you like the crime fighting business?" Serena asked making
conversation.
"What? What do you mean…?" Gohan asked, not knowing that Serena knew about
Super Sayin Man, for this was the first time she brought it up.
"Ya know, Super Sayin Man…" Serena said.
"What, I wouldn't know…" Gohan said, trying to conceal his secret.
"You don't have to pretend, Gohan. I know. I heard you talk about it in the
hospital, and ya know you don't have to stop the hero business for me…" she
added.
"How do you know? I never said anything, while you were awake that is…"
"Even though my eyes are closed doesn't mean I can't hear," Serena
explained.
"Oh…"
"So how do you like it? I know it's can be fun sometime…and others…" she
kind of trailed off after that.
"I know…" Gohan replied.
Well, I hope you liked it! Sorry, I haven't had much of this story out
lately, but I just keep missing the deadlines, and I have another story out
to. Also don't think that I'm spending more time on What if…? Cause I'm not,
it's just easier to write not only that, but the chapters are shorter too.
But I hope to have another chapter next week, but I might not cause I'm
