Some unholy lust
That brings us to death's sweet edge
And refuses us red release
It is death to be you
Death to kill you

But I have already died
And lurking in the shadows there
is my violet-eyed hell.
You call to me
Cries in the night
A kiss in the dark

Blood spilled in the light
A kill dealt in the day
And in these shards of broken time
You let down your braid
Letting the blood that taints us
be mingled between sweat and small comfort.
One day
Perhaps
there will be no need for
killings staining the day
kisses stolen in the dark

we will close our eyes
the sun will rise
