*Disclaimer-I don't own Roswell or the Moffatts' song "Typical"

Alex tried to calm down as he looked out at the gathering crowd. His eyes honed in on a single figure in the smoky club with a mix of anger and love. Her blonde hair bounced slightly as she threw herself down beside Michael, smiling and beginning to talk with him. Alex's eyes grew a little colder and his determination greater as he watched her, remembering why he was so angry. She had reverted to how she had treated him before they broke up. Now it was time to show her. Maria stepped up behind him, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Are you sure you want to do this?" He nodded. "Yeah...she has to know." His hands slowly worked and reworked the bass chords. Maria's lips found their way to his cheek. "Good luck." She stepped back and picked up her tambourine, content to be in the background for Alex's message to seep into Isabelle's head. Maybe it would seep into Michael's thick skull. The DJ announced the Whits to thundering applause and Alex took his place at the front.

"Thanks everyone. We're gonna start with a little song called "Typical" for a couple of typical people out there." He looked pointedly at Isabelle as the band started up the music. For one of the first times ever, Alex Whitman sang.

Open your eyes
Hear all the voices inside my head
It's no surprise
I'm filtering through all the things you said

I can't believe that you're here again
You keep pretending there's no end

If I'm such a loser
Then why do you hang around me?
You're always trying to change me
You always say 'if only'
If I keep listening to all the things you said
You're so miserable
You're so typical

As his eyes found Isabelle's again he realized she knew exactly what was happening and how angry he was. Forcing himself to look at her for only a moment, he remembered how she acted around her friends when he was in the room. Despite her behavior in private, when he saw her, he wondered how one person could kiss you one second and then push you away the next. He continued his song.

Taking your cue
From a magazine that talks to you
Filling your head
Without an original point of view
Oh look here she comes again
Runaway train comin' round the bend

If I'm such a loser
Then why do you hang around me?
You're always trying to change me
You always say 'if only'
If I keep listening to all the things you said
You're so miserable
And I'm invisible
This love's predictable
You're so typical

It's always the same
You can't find sunshine in pouring rain
Day by day
Finding someone else to blame

The words poured out of his mouth with the anger that he had built up. He wondered if their destiny was the real reason she didn't want to see him anymore. It didn't stop Max from trying to see Liz.

I can't believe that you're here again
You keep pretending there's no end

If I'm such a loser
Then why do you hang around me?
You're always trying to change me
You always say 'if only'
If I keep listening to all the things you said
Then I'd be you instead

If I'm such a loser
Then why do you hang around me?
You're always trying to change me
You always say 'if only'
If I keep listening to all the things you said

You're so miserable
And I'm invisible
Love's predictable
Inconceivable
Unbelievable
Undeniable
Uncontrollable

You're so typical

The last note rang out and Alex looked again at Isabelle, realizing she had tears in her eyes. They locked eyes for a moment before she turned away, heading to the bathroom hurriedly, knocking people out of her way. Alex looked at Maria who nodded encouragingly, stepping up to the microphone to take her place for the next song. Alex slipped back into the background, his eyes locked on the bathroom door. He had said all he needed to and he felt a little better but he knew he'd never recover from her...no matter how many angry songs he sang.
