Gore: Mamoru Chiba
Announcer ~ And we're back. The
candidates will answer questions put to them by nearly two dozen voters from the
St. Louis area; voters who remain undecided. The first question comes from
Hino Rei and is for Governor Kou. Miss Hino.
Rei ~ Governor Kou, I've been following the
campaign very closely but I need to know more about where the candidates stand
on the issues I really care about. Protecting a woman's right to choose,
dealing with global warming, and fighting the big oil companies at HMO. Do
you and the Vice President have any differences on these issues that would help
me decide which of you to support? Right now I have no idea.
Kou ~ Well Rei, that's a very good
question. And uh, actually there are differences between myself and the
Vice President on those issues.
Rei ~ I did not realize that.
Kou ~ Yes and it's only the issues you should
be more in tune with him than with me. I'm kind of surprised you're still
undecided.
Motoki ~ Mr. Vice President, your response?
Chiba ~ Motoki, I agree with the governor on
that. On each of these issues Rei strongly disagrees with me and with my opponent.
Kou ~ That's right. That's right.
Rei ~ I'm sorry, but you're not telling me
anything that helps me to decide.
Kou ~ I think you should vote for Mr. Gore and
not for me.
Gore ~ I'm gonna agree.
Rei ~ I still can't decide
